Well, here's the 1000pt version of my 750 list, what do you think?

Sounds rather impressive, I personally wonder why so many units? I mean, there is a distinct possibility that somebody could shoot one of those units and route half your army if they run through each other, or worse still if they destroy a whole unit at once, then everyone within 6'' needs to take a leadership check, not good for skaven!

Just a thought, maybe combining some of the units may be helpful, also more attacks in too!

The other problem with this list is that you'll have trouble dealing with fully ranked units.. Since NOTHING in your army negates ranks.

Also, armies with high armour saves may give you some trouble.

The point is to try not to get into combat with fully ranked units if possible unless completely necessary because ranked units will almost always win through static CR.

Holy shit thats good! I just looked it up and that thing is deadly man. Only thing that sucks is that it scatters and he does get a look out sir.

Why would he get a look out sir ? . All shooting at the Slann is treated separately from the unit since he is a large target. He does not benefit from the look out sir rule.

It's the reason people buy him that 2+ ward save Plaque

Plus the slann takes up 4 spaces worth of troops, so even with the scatter, you have a good chance of at least getting a partial on him.

Marksmen, Shmarksmen..

They'll hit on 4s , need 6's to wound and then he has a 4+ or 2+ ward save.
Plus he has like 6 wounds

I don't think he's going down to xbow fire anytime soon

Ahh ok, I didn't know he was a large target lol. Damn I would love to see the look on my opponent's face when my crappy ass skaven hero throws the orb at the Slann and kills him. it'd be like affraid

Oh yeah... I forgot about the +1 for large target bill...

So if the Slann is at close range... which would probably be bad for your xbowmen.. you'd hit him on 2s..

Correct the +1 for a large target would make me hit him on a 2+. My mercs have a BS of 4. Those guys are pretty good. Thats why I got them.

thing is Bill that xbows dont have the stopping power to take one out, unless you have like 20+ shooting at it for a few turns, if hes so close to you that you get the short range, then you are in trouble.

I think Stephan was talking about if you were at long range, which is only 15'' + away.

Either way, the poison weapons will help with heavily armored troops, only cause it will force them to make saves. The general "hit and run" tactic could work too.
