Bretonnian question

Just a random question while thumbing through the Bretonnian army book.

The Green Knight counts as a lord choice, and he has leadership 9. In an army with less than 3000 points, can you field him? Are you allowed to make a lower leadership hero the general in the case that it's a special character with a special rule? I see a lot of army lists out there with him at the 2000 point level but even army builder won't let you build that. Just curious.

You can have 1 Lord character at 2000 points, 2 at 3000 points.

So you can field him in a 2k point game and he would need to be the general.

That's what I thought, but I don't think you can make him the general. At least, army builder doesn't allow it.

he might have some special rule or something since he doesnt deploy on the table and is undead, ive seen Dale play him and use someone else as a general in some games.

He does not deploy on the table at the start of the game, and he can't be the general ( as far as I know).
