New version of WM?
Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't there just a new rulebook out?

Prime Remix wasn't really a new rulebook. It was a reprint of Prime with all of the errata that had accumulated over time, and some cosmetic changes to specific rules and models. WM MKII will be a completely revamped system that will revise the entire rulebook, and retool the system to make it more user friendly, as well a changing most, if not all, of the models' point values. Models that are underpowered will either become cheaper, or will be retooled with new stats, abilities, etc. The same is true for models that are overpowered. MKII will not be released until quarter 1 of 2010, so there is still quite some time before we even start to see changes. In April we will have the opportunity to participate in open testing, and play with close to the final version of MKII. Gabriel will have the new rules by then.
Hope this helps. If you want more info, check out the main WM site; www.privateerpress.com.

On the 25th. I believe Joel ordered one for Mario, and will have it for the release date.

Re: New version of WM?
Broken off of Rick's post:
I don't think they're going to change the Focus mechanic into the Fury mechanic, for the following reasons:
A.) Fluff - they have pages (and thus, money) of WM and IK fluff that talks about how the Focus mechanic works. Are they gonna throw that all out the window?
B.) Game seperation - PP has stated that Warmachine and Hordes are two different games which happen to be compatible and this is the main difference dividing the two games.
plodolo wrote:galonso wrote:The Fury mechanic is better than the Focus mechanic and that's why they are changing it in MK II.
What do you mean they are changing it? Is WM getting the FURY mechanic? The would be great! I wonder what they will do.

Re: New version of WM?
right, i wasn't saying that you were, i was providing an argument that they wouldn't if Guy felt they may change to it.
But taken out of context like that I can see how that can be easily misinterpreted

Re: New version of WM?
Which core rules have changed, and how?
Additional details will be forthcoming, but some of the core rules changes in WARMACHINE Mk II include modifications to the warjack system rules, the unit formation rules, and the point cost system.
Every single model has been reevaluated from top to bottom for game balance as well as rules interactions to bring you the best tabletop gaming experience possible.
What are some of the most important changes to warjacks?
Like warbeasts, warjacks are no longer destroyed until they have lost all of their damage boxes. There are no longer “disabled” wrecks and “destroyed” wrecks; a wreck is simply a warjack with every damage box already marked off.
Furthermore, many of the attack penalties for performing power attacks have been reduced or eliminated, and most warjacks now have a higher MAT and RAT than before.
What are some of the most important changes to warriors?
The unit formation rules have been changed to eliminate the four types of formation (tight formation, open formation, skirmish formation, and cavalry formation). A model is now either in formation or not.
Units have also been streamlined significantly so that the number of stat profiles players need to remember is roughly half of what it was.
Will many models change in point cost?
Every single model will change in point cost. The point cost system has been retooled in WARMACHINE Mk II.

Re: New version of WM?
First off, Ray you are so GAY!
These are the two informations that interest me the most. I like the idea of removing disabled warjacks from the game. I normally destroy warjacks anyways since i dont like leaving stuff for my opponent to target spells and AOE's on. Raising MAT and RAT is also a good move IMO. Removing the types of formations is also good since it streamlines the game however, alot of things mention the formations so it would be interesting to see how they do this. I mean Shield wall req tight formation while CRA requires open formation. Would both of these require being "in formation" or would one be "in" and the other "out?" Also, are they taking out the "must meet unit cohersion" requirement? I like the fact they are upgrading the game and can't wait to see what they do. Well, at least I get to "beta-test" it in April.
