Charging a monster

The rules state that when a formation charges a monster only the spearhead company can be in base contact and the rest are in support. So, does that mean no other formation can charge the monster or would it mean that the only the spearhead of the new formation can be in base contact? There are no examples that cover this in the book and the rules don't cover mulitple formations verses a monster. I'd like some clarification before the tormanment.

PS, what armies is everyone playing?

I would assume that as long as it's on the flank or rear then another formation could charge it, but they couldn't also charge the front.

As for armies, I imagine they'll be a wide mix of everybody!

That's what Bill and I felt was the correct answer but I'm waiting for the Troll players to pipe up and dispute this since Monsters have a 360 line of sight and hence they will say no flank or rear.

IMO "only the spearhead" would indicate that multiple spearheads could charge one monster - but only 1 compnay from each formation could enter base to base.

I'd also like to hear from the Troll players
