According to Warseer rumours, Ogres are the next Fantasy army!

I'm happy, cuz I have 50+ Ogre mini's gathering dust in my closet!

There are rumors for 3 different books and the 8th edition rules all floating around.

I'm pretty sure TK will be next.

Fo Sho! It's a win win for me. I have both those armies and they both nedd a bit of a revamp.

Isn't it their turn?
Or are they one of those armies that is neglected and ignored?

Actually Jerry, I think a new edition is not a bad idea. The fantasy rules set could use some streamlining and refocusing - the way it's going, it makes more sense to run small elite units that actual army blocks, and the magic system does not seem to have been designed with the number of power die flying around with the current army books, not to mention that the army balance is way out of whack. Yes, some of that can be attributed to army books as is the case in 40k, but the imbalance is so dramatic across the board that the rules have to be answerable for some of that.

To put it this way, I play Necrons in 40k. Outdated codex, they're nowhere near being a competitive army in a tournament setting, but I can still hold my own and win a good number of matches because as imbalanced as the game may be, it's not over the top.

Ogres in Fantasy might as well be the toilet paper of the other armies. Yeah, outdated army book, but I think the rules themselves screw them to such a degree that it's hard to climb back up.

I think what they did to advance 5th ed 40k from 4th ed is overall brilliant, and I only hope that they give the same treatment to fantasy.

I've watched Ogres slaughter Top Tier armies.

It's about how you play it, and unfortunately, it's a VERY unforgiving army.

They do new edition of their games almost every 5 years, pretty common cycle thats been going on for some time.

Sergio has beaten me down with Ogres several times - including 2 wins vs. my Daemons.

Matt plays O&G like a top tier army.
Luis causes havok with TK

It's all about the matchups and the player.

damn if only some handsome guy was selling ogres at a very reasonable price so i can buy them now before gw hikes up the prices so high that even used models will be nigh unaffordable; if only.........
