Warhammer 8th Ed Launch Event - July 10th and 11th

Joel has asked my to inform you all of the events that will be taking place on the weekend of July 10-11. This is show off and inform the people the new edition.

On Saturday- July 10th
Demo of the Game and how the changes will effect most of our armies. This will run for most of the day it starts at noon time. For new players this will be a great way to show how the game works and i will be able to answer any questions that you might have. Demo will be of only 1,000 points

All those that sign up for this event will be entered into a drawing for 50 dollars in store credit. This 50 dollars can only be used on Games-Workshop product

And Starting at 3 there will be a building event. It will last till 6pm
the one that builds the most with skill and care. the one that wins will 50 dollars in store credit.
you can either buy or bring your own stuff... For example i have around 100 night goblins that need to be built.

On Sunday-July 11th

There will be a mini tournament. It will be a three round event. The first 2 rounds will be using 7th ed, while the final round will be using 8th ed.

The point sizes will be the following
Round 1-2: 1,500
Round 3: will be 2,500

Doors open at 11 am.
Round one starts at 11:45
Round one ends at 1:30
30 mins for food and what not
Round two starts at 2:05
Round two ends at 3:50
switch will take 20 mins to switch out troops and what not
So then Round 3 will start 4:10
Round 3 will end at 6:40 (yes it is going 2 hours and half)

And you have to stick with the same army through out the event..
There is limited space in this event.
The over all winner of this will again receive 50 dollars worth of product
There is only first place if you come in second place well then your the first of last place. Joel's & GW's calling on this one.

What if your list is legal in 7th E but illegal in 8th E???

same army, different lists- I presume. as one 7e is 1500pts, and 8e is 2500pts

Why such a difference in points though? I'd think you'd want equal or the opposite.

Chris is right. I'd assume that you bring 2 different lists.

I'm sure Nate has the dates wrong. The first group of events is on Saturday the 10th and the tourney is Sunday the 11th.

yea i was talking to him about it yesterday. and he noticed he fucked up on the dates. xD

yea i looked at the wrong month..lol I fixed that now. As for illegal lists i am really not sure what to tell you. I mean beyond says get them legal not sure. If you are coming let me know i think i might have some thing you can use Eric. For i have a massive lizardmen army

I'm gonna pull out my Dark Elves from the pits. I haven't played a game of Fantasy in over a year and with this new edition, figure its time to relearn something fresh.

whatever you want its no big, I want to get a feel for how fragile elves are so I can know what to do with my Wood elves. Speaking of I've been in tactics mode so I got some dirty tricks >
