Further WFB Tournaments
I have spoke to joel to see about running another Tournament. Mostly due to fact that the game died after i stopped running events. Which i knew would happen but was not my intention.
Well a few things first:
We have little to no terrain any more. So if we want it we are going to have to either buy terrain, bring our own in or some one is going to build terrain for the store.
Next joel had told me that we will not be receiving any support from joel nor GW because the 40k events will be getting it all. For they don't see the reason why they did to share product (from joel). So unless we want to have a nice pot we are looking at 15-20 a head for a local tournament. which i think is fucking nuts. i mean wow with your normal 6 people turn out we are looking at 60 dollars....which i crap. I mean ard boyz is free and you get a free army .
Tables...the new mats are pass able and i am thinking it might be atlest 2 months before we see a finished one, and joel only has one in stock.
I am posting this to see what you guys think about this.

What happened to all the terrain?
I don't need prizes, but then we shouldn't have to Buy In either.

So... Tate's once a month or so because at least (from how people have talked about it) that store seems to care about all its gamers and not just one group.

Tate's is a great place.
If you just want a meet point - Florida Super Con has plenty of nice stuff and nobody to compete with for space.

Re: Further WFB Tournaments
Do they even have actual room for anyone to play anything like WFB? Any time I've been there the game tables were all taken over by card gamers and not really that much room if available for too many wargamers

Re: Further WFB Tournaments
There is some terrain, and the terrain is there that Joel still has. Some of it is broken, but the problem is that in order to play the new edition, you need more terrain (D6+4).
The problem is that Joel hired someone to make terrain for both game systems, and the majority of the terrain I have seen from it is usable only by 40k (as it is ruined tanks and such). Don't get me wrong, some of it very nice and looks great, just not usable for Fantasy.

Re: Further WFB Tournaments
Well, it looks like Joel has totally abandoned any support for Fantasy. I understand that 40k is played lots more, but the whole thing about no prize support for fantasy tournaments sucks. Fantasy tournamets happen like every 4 months or so. The month that a fantasy tournament happens he shoudl split the prize support cause he still sells fantasy stuff. The whole thing suxs. We the players are also to blame i guess, we really are horrible at getting together for a game of WFB. Nate is trying to do his campaign, but as much as i want to go, something else seems to come up that day

The campaign idea failed when Nate picked Sunday.
Every-other-Wednesday night is an easy sale to the wife.
Disappearing on the weekends on a regular basis is too hard to negotiate for those of us with family.

They have the space, boards, and terrain to fit and build 9 games.
The GW group meets on Wednesday nights.
I doubt you'd be able to find a pick up game there at this time.

People actually show up for the warhammer league nights? It's not like W&P where no one ever showed up or the store had no idea what was going on? Last time I was there it didn't seem at all like they could hold up to 9 warhammer games on the table space they had unless they have really moved things around and added some more tables.

Re: Further WFB Tournaments
Chris Nunez runs the whole thing and he's completely competent in how Warhammer leagues work.
