Torunament Annoucement.
Sunshine will be having its first Lord of the Rings tournament.
I have not come up with firm point level yet, but not less than 250 points and not more than 600 points.
It appears 600 points takes to long for a tournament with multiple battles, but 250 may not be satisfying enough. Please make suggestions.
We could have a couple of scenarios mix with brief battle of 250 points.
What would like to have?
24 August Sunday.
All tournaments will occur on the THIRD Sunday of the month or NOT AT ALL.

Re: Torunament Annoucement.
I think 4 or 5 hundred points would be perfect for a tourney.

Re: Torunament Annoucement.
Oh I forgot to mention, there will be prizes!
Up to $50.00 in GW LotR products, I believe but I need to confirm.
Solskritt we need to time our games closely so when get an accurate estimate.

Re: Torunament Annoucement.
I guess the real question is: Will there be possible armies to borrow if this were to occur? I mean there are not too many guys (that I know of) who own the models, but I think a few of you have multiple armies.
If so, I would suggest offering to bring them as borrowed models for the tournament's sake, and let guys get into the game that way.

Re: Torunament Annoucement.
Scurrdi, I think that is an excellent idea!
Then players could win credit, get more LotR armies and eventually build their entire army (or most or some) on Games Workshop's dime!
I plan on bring all of my armies, I should have at least two (Gondor and Isengard).
And yes the tournament is still on.

Any more info on the tourney? What time do we have to be there? Do we have to submit our lists beforehand?

Tournament Update.
Solskritt, bring at least a 200 army, bring more if you want to make some last minute changes.
Last Sunday we use 200 points it seem to carry on for about two hours.
I really like to have at least one scenario, and two battles, but we may not enough time, we shall see.
Luco, and Javier said they would be there.
Possible shows are; Art (Luco's cousin) and Alex.
Missing in action is Nick, he play once and I have not seen him at Sunshine since (it's me right)?
Working madly on terrain for this tournament.
Heres what I have planed;Fighting in the ruins of Osigiliath.
A scenario involving the four Hobbits and the Ring Wraiths (the location depends on if I have the Old Forrest completed).
Battle selected from the Legions of Middle Earth (so, uh, please bring you book).
Start 12:30 PM ending at 6:30 PM

Winner!
The winner of the Sunshine's first Lord of the Rings tournament went to Juan Carlos; second went to Javier and third place went to Luca.
Although not completely painted and only primed, the players got a preview of the ruins of Osgiliath (some commented that it look good as is). Also the Fuckzzy battle mat was first officially used. I will be touching up this mat based on the players comments (the grass is too dark).
I am working on improving my armies to fight against Juan Carlos, Isengard is just like the Germans in FOW, too powerful.
The tournament went smooth and I hope to have Mirkwood ready for the next one.
I was really happy to see the turnout level for a game that very few participants currently play. We recruited Tom who has join with "The Dead of Dunharrow" army.

Re: Torunament Annoucement.
It was awesome! Isengard is very powerful and I had lots of good rolls.I think 400pts was just right for a tourney. If we get more people I'd like to play a team tourney, now that would be fun.Oh,and after you told me the undead special rules I now fear them. That rule where I use my courage instead of defense is pretty disgusting.Means my defense drops from a formidable 6 to a crappy 3.

Re: Torunament Annoucement.
Solskritt, it does not stop there with the dead. The King of Dead has drain soul, if he hits you, its over, he can bring down a Balrog with its 10 wounds in one hit, so unless you use your might, fate or some other power, you are GONE!
And there is the courage test due to terror.
Yes the dead army is pretty impressive.
Look out!
