Big Game January 17th

Ok, I couldn't find the original post for this so I just started another Whos gonna be there and at what time?

I will be there for sure with the elves an Ent Gandalf and the gang so like 2000k of Good will be there from me.

well considering the size of the game some time in the middle of the day would be good I think like 11 AM or 12 noon.

Just to add to my previous post I will bring my one and only Mordor army and thanks to some thoughtful gifts (Thanks Jerry) I'm sure I can bring my army to any point level we will need.

My sister will be using Harad and I will be using Gondor.

I should be there with Fallen Kingdoms.

With multiple lists from the same army in play, plus the use of allies - this may result in duplications.

Do we want to have a restriction on use of Epic Heros and Legandary Formations?

Do we want to wait until game day to construct lists?

We have a big response - I'd like to run 1500 per player, but we may cut to 1000 or use a reserve system if things won't fit.

I am a big supporter of the restriction of Epic Heros and Legendary Formations to to how it is described in the force organization section of the book so that we don't have 2 of Legolas and 3 Gandalfs running around. Also it will encourage more troops to be taken so it will be like a large battle and not a game of hero wars. Just my Opinion but I think it will give a better "Epic Battle" feeling if there are more troops on the table.

I agree Rob - coordinate via PM with your team mates, but also be prepared to make adjustments for unforseem duplications.

If everyone list their army in detail and work together if they share the same army then there should be no conflicts.

An example: lets say two players want to field Gondor, one could have Aragorn, the other Gandalf. Or one could Aragorn; Legolas and Gimli and the other have Boromir, Faramir and the Prince of Anor ect.

Just a suggestion.

I guess I need to pick a side to move forward.....

One other note - based on the planned size of the board I am going to allow each PLAYER to use the AMBUSH rule with ONE artillery FORMATION.

If you have more than one formation of artillery, then you must depoly the remaining using the normal deployment rules.

If this keeps growing, or all of the optional show - we will split this into 2 mega battles.

If need be I can bring my 3 6x3 tables and sheet to go with them. We once played a really large game on that and I think it could work well.

Also, I think its a good idea to converse with your team here but I think we should leave army building for the day of since I almost guarantee we will end up re working armies anyway. I am also in favor of unique epic heroes...2x Aaragorn with Grey company or 2x the 9 are abroad is just not cool

I agree - duplications would be lame.

If 2 players both want a specific hero or formation - default to the pure army general over allys. For players with duplicates, send soe IMs and make some claims to who wants to run what.

ie: If you take Aragorn, give up Boromir

How big of a base does the Misty mountain troll uses and a Stone giant ?
