December tournament??

I pretty much don't give a rat's a$$ at this point. I mean I am more than willing to run a tournament that day. I even took the day off. But I am not going to beg Joel to let me run a tournament. FoW could be doing so much better if Joel would care about it, but he doesn't. Jerry is burned out and Joel is inflexible about tournament dates. So, I don't know who is gonna run any future tournaments. I work sundays and it is practically impossible to get the day off.

He mentioned it, but I wanted to see what the deal was with FoW. I forgot to mention it to Eric...I just saw him a bit ago. I havent run it by my wife and Im not gonna step on Erics dick with Flames. Somebody run it by him again and see what he says.

Well Bill, you could still clear the day with your wife and play in the FOW tournament that day!

I'll be town for the weekend (buying my plane tickets tonight) so if it's either day I don't care, but I would like Erik to be there so I prefer saturday. Plus, I don't want to fly into town to run an event if I can afford it (thank God it was 9 players + me)

Ok folks, Bill had a conversation with Joel and and Joel has set up a 40k tournament for that day. So, to my knowledge there is no tournament this month. Its too bad because we have confirmed 8 to 10 people. Not sure the future of an other events. Jerry has stated that he is burned out with FoW and noone else wants to run them. I can't participate on Sundays. The other Sgt. that I work with had a heart attack and so that makes it impossible for me to take any sundays off. I'm thinking of having a little FoW gathering at my house on the 13th but would only be able to get 3 boards going if others bring terrain. let me know if anyone is interested.

Erik can't, as he can't get any Sundays off. Jerry (the only other person I know of who has run tournaments at Joel's in the past) doesn't want to do anything with FOW for awhile.

So unless someone else steps up to run it, then it's a no go.

Erik is just frustrated because he had been trying to get Joel to run an FOW event on a Saturday, thinking that we may get more folks out (like himself, for example). Joel wants to have a 40k event that month, and with the Holidays the other two weekends probably aren't going to have a big crowd, so the 13th is his logical choice.

Either way, I'm down for whatever folks plan to do. I don't want to run anymore tournaments until I'm in town on a permanent basis and can play a little more regularly. It's a pain to bring down my whole army with the prospect of not playing at all if I run the tournament.

This pisses me off.

40k is generally healthy and can be done on any weekend.

FOW, we have to get the fucking planets aligned to do it right. We have an opportunity for FOW and Joel insists on 40k, even though Erik brought up the idea a couple months ago.

Yea,you do have a point.It's hard to get everyone on a specific day and when we do Joel crushes it.
