Just finishing up now, need to do the lanterns and finish up some details. Was a nice break from DE, but it sure did take a long time to complete

Now you just gotta add some flies flying arround it and it will be complete !!!! Dont ask me how you gonna do it, just do it !

Just a side thing. I'm building up small vampire counts army for when I get bored of painting darkelves/eldar. I'm also using it to kind of lure my gf into fantasy and to get her off mainstream faggy vamp shit (twilight/trueblood... shit like that), heh.

The paint job itself is great... but I don't know if I'd go so colorful with the VCs . IMO it just doesn't fit them...

Then again.. mine are unpainted so what do I know.

Flock the bases with some snow, frostbitten corpses from Norsca and Kislev.

I think it prob is just the picture, lamp + flash up close + auto correction. I'll have to show it to you some time and you can point out some stuff. It'll really give me a base to work from with the rest of my stuff. dipping really gives it that grungy feel that would be nice- but I want to avoid that

The colors I used were (all citadel) graveyard earth, bleached bone(flesh), scorched brown, scab red(with scorched brown for blood), shadowgrey/spacewolves grey (some clothes), and a little green with combos of stuff. oh, and some warlock purple+pink for the front zombie's lung that's falling out

to use tallarn flesh + hormogaunt purple foundation and up to rotting flesh. I'm really inexperienced with flesh and on my corpse cart it is simply black base building up bleached bone to a mix with white. Simple and gives them a real glow in rl, but what that guy did on his corpse cart zombies' skin tones is pretty awesome.

I gotcha..

The greens, reds and blues are really popping out. The water on the base in particular looks a little too bright to me, but I'll definitely have to see the model in person.

larger picture, but also taken with normal light (no flash). Did the lamps and Grey the ground (rocky) to separate it from the mossy stuff. I intend to grey out (spacewolves grey)the water a bit, so it isn't such a sharp blue.

Is the water thing gonna be a theme for one of your armies or are you just doing it cause its kool?

I think it looks great, I was just wondering since that sort of thing is pretty important when it comes to army uniformity, and it looks like it took alot of work.

Yeah, it is- already based skeletons like it. DEs won't be having it since they're already on their bases.

I like the blue water base with your DE and Eldar as it goes nice with the pink; however, the blue is a bit too bright on this model.

I think that would look a bit better as a pool of blood.

Chris why don't you take pictures and document a step by step instruction on how you do your water effects? Put it in the painting blog.

With your original pics I actually like the color separation, it looked like you were going for a "traveling under a full moon" feel. Spooky.

UCF, was my major for the first two years so I didn't really take much of an art class load. I've was more into cg/pencil though.
