According to your profile you're a cook. Do you have experience? If so how many years and in what types of places? For example any particular nationality? French, Italian, Mexican? Or maybe short order cook, prep or line cook? That kinda info.

I know of a company by the name of Bupa thats hiring. The only requirement is that you have to be able to read and write in spanish and english.

i got 5years exp as a prep/pantry cook,3years exp catering,a grad of a 2year tech school culinary program,went to jwu for a year but didnt finsh cus i had to get my hand cut open.

i have a career builder accont but no call backs. its hard to compete when there is peope with 15 years exp going for the same job.i got a call from a hotel sayin i didnt get the job,has that ever happen to anyone be for?

and no im not much of a armed forces guy but i got a history of stregic air command in my family. granpa flew the old b-52's and my uncle gets paid to basicaly play wargames like flames of war for the gov. to try out n test stragies.

With all due respect, why don't you get off the wii and check Monster. put your name out on Facebook (not for dates or shooting the shit with your buddies, but to network [don't put that stupid picture of you drinking with your buddies, try one of you in your cooking attire or a well plated dish]) and LinkedIn. Go to job fairs. Try a temp agency or two. Shit, even Craigslist.
Again, please don't take this as an attack, but, if I didn't have a job I wouldn't touch the wii, ps3, 360, 40k model, or anything until i had some interviews lined up. just trying for a little cunstructive criticism.

When I was looking for work in Jan/Feb I played extra video games and warhammer because you need to keep your mind busy while waiting for the phone to ring.

I also asked many friends for leads and favors, so I see nothing wrong with networking here on the site for some help.

It's called..."The quality of quantity..." Apply and apply and apply again until you are tired of applying, then do it all over again. I've been a hiring manager for going on 15 years now, and many get lost in the mix, especially if they are from external sources, like Careerbuilder, or Monster. Don't be afraid to check all the restaurants and apply directly, too (in person and on the web). Check daily and apply to 5-10 a day (even ones to which you've already applied). Eventually, something will break free. I'm sure it's extra tough now with so many experienced workers getting laid off, but keep at it.

Join the Military. War generates great job security and you can evne be a cook. Plus it's a great character builder.
