I'd say do 2 or three successive layers of dry brushing.

Prime black. Drybrush with Dark Flesh, then Elf Flesh, then Rotting flesh. Apply a watered down wash of chestnut ink, and then do one final highlight of bleached bone.

Let us first remember that rotting flesh has diffrent tones than just "rotting flesh" to it. I like to think that when my flesh finally rots off my body that there will be such decay that it shows all the darker colours of the rainbow.

Have you tried to research REAL cadavers? I can tell you (and I'm sure Bill has seen his fair share of) dead people have diffrent colours depending on how and where they died.

If I was to paint a Deamon Prince, I think I would definately bring some gloss for a gooey effect of flesh rotting and glistening. Lots of bright reds and browns ( to emphasize the freshness of the rot) and some greys and greens to produce festering...like diseases. There are always additional sores and infectious boils to consider though.

Post pics as soon as you are finished. I am intrested to see how you made out.

wings, i like the ones from the Fantasy "Carrion". not sure how i'm gonna get them to attach, i forsee some pinning and chopping in my future.
no tail, i don't see papi nurgle as giving tails to his underlings, i would see that as more of a slaaneshi thing. i like the ideas of bruises and gloss, (although, generally, gloss looks odd on a miniature). i think building from elf flesh up to rotting then maybe a wash with a final highlight of blached bone or skull white will work well like stephan said.
