Flames of War players, add a little Sci Fi to your game!
Any Weird War fans and those with FoW might like this, but the new version of Gear Krieg is finally out. Basically it's a supplement to the Battlefield Evolution: World at War rules by Mongoose. The system was made for 20-28mm WWII gaming but the Gear Krieg supplment has rules to make it compatible with 15mm figs. Gear Krieg figs are 15mm so they mesh with you Flames of War armies just fine and they designed in this way. Got a Flames of War army, just add a couple Gear Krieg figs or customize some figs and play some pulp sci fi wierd war!
The highlight of Gear Krieg is of course the addition of mecha to world war 2. Details on the new supplement at http://dp9forum.com/index.php?showtopic=7046
Also find a ton of pics of Gear Krieg figs mixed with FoW figs here: http://dp9forum.com/index.php?showtopic=5951

Does it also have rules or works in a 6mm enviroment? It would be really neat to addapt to the BattleMech world.

Says that with the GK supplement you can play anything from 6mm and up. The GK minis themselves are 15mm hence them being popular match with the Flames of War line.

If there are no models in 6mm then it seems pointless to play, to bad, it look interesting.

Well they did it just because some people have 6mm wwII figs already so if you don't mind not being in scale with all the figs on the table, you just pull out whatever you have. Rules were originally meant for 20-28mm in Battlefield Evolution but the author of those rules has decided to put out various WaW supplements like this GK one to take advantage or people having so many different scales.
If your not keen on the FoW system for example, you might want to try playing Evolution: World at War instead. Author was a fan of Gear Krieg and other DP9 games like Heavy Gear, so he decided to try and revive Gear Krieg with this supplement to his World at War game.

Re: Flames of War players, add a little Sci Fi to your game!
Little update on this which I found neat, but they are expanding to the Japanese soon the "BANZAI!" expansion to Gear Krieg. Appropriate timing now with the release the the HBO series 'The Pacific'. Super science pulp walkers, and rules for Japanese zombies, super soldiers, demon oni troops, and.... NINJAS! http://www.adpublishing.de/html/gear_krieg_banzai_.html
Course I doubt many here would have Japanese forces in 15mm since they are not in FoW yet, but many manufacturers make figs in 15mm, and cheaper than Battlefronts.
Also since the digital book sold so well, Dreampod 9 went ahead and printed out actual physical copies of the original Gear Krieg World at War book now if digital only releases bother you.
