Hurricon 2009!! FOW LW Tournament!

On Saturday, Sept. 26th, there will be a LW Tournament at Hurricon. Here's the info!

• No fee other than convention entry.
• 24 player, 1750 point Late war qualifier for 2010
• The tournament will consist of Encounter, No Retreat (in Firestorm box or on Battlefront website), and Breakthrough.
• 1750 points.
Festung Europa - Waffen SS and Soviet Guard armies are 1460 points
Festung Europa - British and US Italy Veterans are 1350 points
• Army lists including unit history must be submitted to edleland@earthlink.net no later than 20 September 2009. I will not check army lists the morning of the tournament! Army lists must include the following information:
• Player's full name, email address, mailing address and phone number
• Army list being used (For example: Udarny Strelkovy Batalon)
• Book or website reference (For example: Stalin's Onslaught)
• Format of army lists should either be .pdf, .doc, .ppt or .xls.
• Only the following army lists are allowed to take multiple companies:
• US Rangers (Festung Europa)
• US Rangers (Bloody Omaha)
• Commando Troop (Festung Europa)
• Churchill squadron Italy (PDF)
• Churchill squadron Normandy (PDF)
• 4th Special Service Brigade RM Commandos (PDF)
• 3 Rounds over 1 day, 2.5 hours per round.
• More Lessons From The Front Again are in effect. Located on the Forums under Rules Questions. Phil’s experimental rule for remote controlled demolition carriers is in effect.
• Please refer to the following list of books, PDFs and website articles for legal armies.

Any army list available on the Flames of War website listed under Official 1944-45.
• All armies must be fully painted. Any miniatures not fully painted will be pulled from the table prior to starting the tournament.
• Rounds will be determined by game play results and each player will be seeded with an opponent of his caliber.
• We will also attempt to match up Axis vs. Allies whenever possible but do not expect every game to work out historically.
• Battlefront software with a weighting of 75% Generalship/15% Painting & History/10% Sportsmanship will be used

Who all is gonna go? I will talk to Ed and reserve the spots for us. I definitely plan on going, I'm just debating if I'm going to leave really early in the AM the day of or leave Friday night late (I have a football game that day).

That is the fantasy 'Ard Boys day

I'm in. I already reserved my hotel room. Going up friday and coming home on Sunday! I need to finish painting my Rockets, Pak 40s and Panzerfausts.

What does this mean? You have to play a lower point value army if you play any of these forces?

Yeah they are a variant list. What happened is they haven't made a complete list for them yet but you can play with them but typically they have better skill and or motivation and they points are adjusted. So basically if you a say British rifle team cost 150 pts the veteran british rifle team would be like 195 or so. Since they didnt make a complete list to adjust the point totals, you have to play with less points for it to be balanced. Hope that confusing answer helps.

It's based off of the old book. Festung Europa was the book before Fortress Europe.

If you've got Fortress Europe, don't worry about it.


And yeah, I know it's the same day as Hard Boyz, but I'm not really into Hard Boyz too much.
