Scoring is Based on Generalship, Army Painting/Unit History, and Sportsmanship

Time Frame:

11:30 - 12:00 : Table Set Up and Registration

12:00 - 2:00 : Round 1

2:00 - 2:30 : Break with Armies on Parade

2:30 - 4:30 : Round 2

4:30 - 4:45 : Break

4:45 - 6:45 : Round 3

6:45 - 7:00 : Awards and Clean Up.

Joel is making a new rule for FOW tournaments run at his store.

Your army must be majority Flames of War models.


He's trying to push the selling of the product in his store. So, there you have it. I told him that is his call, and that was that. I also told him that Battlefront doesn't have that policy, but he seemed to want to make it that way.

Secondly, I want to play in the tournament but have to work a few things out. I will let you know ASAP.

WELL ! that puts me out of it, most of my infantry is non Battlefront.

That puts at least 3 people out. Guess we won't be having any tournaments anymore

Yeah, I know that. We'll see what happens. I'm gonna run this one and if we don't have enough for a turnout, I'll point out the fact that several guys who already have armies couldn't play.

You could always play your tanks Luis! Are they non-BF?

About half my force is Non-BF, the rest of my substancial force is BF bought at Joels. The BF stuff i got is not enough to make a playable army.

Well, it doesn't have to be ALL BF, just most, thats all.

And honestly, I don't know how or if he is going to know the difference. Maybe he'll compare models or something. Maybe he'll confront you about it. Maybe he's expecting me to enforce it. I don't know.

Going to check out stuff, but should be able to make it.

Not going to go well on the painting scores though, I'm still spackling bases and undercoating tanks....

Personally, I kinda want to let this one go and see what happens, and I'll mention to him that we've got 3 folks with armies already who could have come but didn't cause of his new rule.

Maybe for the new players he can make it BF product, but perhaps the rest of us should be grandfathered in.

Who knows though, I will have to wait until tomorrow to see what happens.

Well, I'm out. I caught a cold and I don't feel good at all. I'm sure no one wants to spend the entire afternoon with me coughing all over the place. And Since there are only 3 people, it won't be much of a tournament.

Actually, it's not whether or not you bought it from him, but whether or not it's official GW product. I recently bought a pile of non-gw figures directly from him for a hefty sum, but they're not tournament-legal at the store any more. Fun! I even mentioned the figures are out of print and no one can buy them anywhere, plus they were all bought from him (about two weeks ago). C'est la vie.
