2000 pt 40K Tournament on Feb 13th
Starts at 1PM sharp. You can show up later but you will just have less time to play. Rounds will be 2 hours and 15 minutes, dice down will be called at end of the round. 15 minute breaks between rounds. That means we can start late, get out before 9pm and still have a little extra time to play while still maintaining discipline.
Please sign up and since there is no GW prize support for this event the entry fee will be $10. Prizes will be awarded to 1st through 4th place.

Confirm the schedule for me Brian - there are currently posts for 40k tournements on Feb 6th and Feb 13th, plus a 3rd Apoc 40k game thread for Feb 6th.
Are all of these events valid and taking place?
Are all of these at Sunshine?

Re: 2000 pt 40K Tournament on Feb 13th
My question is, have you checked with Joel to make sure that this is ok?
The Feb. 6 40k Tournament is replaced by the APOC game, Bill.
I just want to make sure that Joel even knows this is coming. If he hasn't already given up the prize support to another game system (or the APOC match).
Of course, if you've already spoken with him, then your good to go!

Thanks Bill. Talked to Joel, tourney is on. He wants Chris to run it which is cool with me. It would be nice to sit back and take it easy this time.

Re: 2000 pt 40K Tournament on Feb 13th
From now on I will be using a margin of victory for all missions. Whenever I am running the tournament I will roll for an objective and deployment for mission 1, roll from the remaining 2 objectives and deployments for missions 2 and the third mission will automatically be the remaining objective and deployment. Below is examples of the margin of victory that can be obtained during these missions.
For example: you get/they get
Massacre 20 0
Major V 17 3
Minor V 13 7
Minor Loss 7 13
Massacred 0 20
Annhilation - having more KP than the opponent is a minor, three more than them a major and 5 more than them a massacre.
Seize Ground - Controlling 1 more counter than your opponent is a minor, 2 more a major and 3 more a massacre.
Capture and Control - you get a minor for controlling an objective while your opponent controls none. If you control one objective while your opponent neither controls or contests the other you get a major victory. You achieve a massacre for controlling both objectives.
For tiebreakers we will have +1 point for destroying their most expensive HQ and +1 for destroying their most expensive non-HQ unit.

Re: 2000 pt 40K Tournament on Feb 13th
I guess convention. I don't really care about ties myself but perhaps it takes something away from the event not to be able to crown a champ. It's pretty ingrained in me that a 40k tournament has tiebreakers, or at least they are usually called bonus points.

Re: 2000 pt 40K Tournament on Feb 13th
I might be able to come, If conditions allow.
I have one other question:
May I field an Adeptus Mechanicus Force [unofficial, it is in the warhammer 40K forum, so you can see it] allied to Imperial Guard?

Re: 2000 pt 40K Tournament on Feb 13th
The only lists you can use are official codex and Blood Angels from White Dwarf. This is the tournament standard. I guess if someone had a Kroot army we could take a vote to see if anyone had a problem with them playing it. There is a nasty turn 1 entire army charge with Kroot but I don't think anyone would have it built and it might not hold up in 5th edition.
The points level is 2000.

The missions that Chris used for the tournament at Tate's were awesome and I thought they were nearly perfectly designed. I will be using them for this tournament. I will post them up in the next few days.
