Board game section

Any chance of having a boad game section added?

I'm asking as I'm one of the organisers of the board game group that meets at Joel's. We use meet up to organise when things are happening, but it would be good to have an actual forum as well.

You can use Free for All to discuss stuff and Find a Game to post events.

Shadow, this brings up an iteresting question.

How much is enough activity to a subject need to justify a section? In other words, can a numer be placed? Could you give details on what takes to qualify for a new section? That way whoever is interested can work towards that goal or realize it could not happen and therefore not even submit a request.

The task I undertook back in April was to get us and keep us organized. This is not my board and I am not the law. I am one of several Admin users.

We don't have a specific policy, but from my point of view.....

I prefer less sections with more activity than to have a bunch of sections with light activity. On the flip side, we want to segregate things into areas of interest for the users.

When you load our home page as a new or perspective users - I want us to look like a robust, organized, and active community. I prefer that all forumn options show on a standard screen resolution (without needed to scroll down). I like to see big numbers in the Topic and Post count columns.

To the end user - big number translate to activity. If you go ointo a section of interest and find no new activity then you are not likely to join and post.

If we have a bunch of Board Game posts and activity - then a new section gets opened and posts get moved in and from day 1 the area looks alive and kicking. That is the idea.

I want to add my two cents. Once an avid mini's gamer, I now primarily enjoy boardgame (including the wargame variety). I think a section for boardgames would be nice.

Yes, callidusx3 play a real WWII game, FOW, not those puny card board counters, but man size little toy soldiers.
