Florida Renaissance Festival - Deerfield Beach

It's that time of year again folks, come one, come all, and make your way to Quiet Waters Park in Deerfield Beach for the 2010 Florida Renaissance Festival!

Starts on the 13th February, and runs every weekend until the 14th of March!

Come see the reason why I've not been within 5 miles of Joel's since November!

Dice off to see which unlucky bugger will get to be the designated driver, then watch him cry as you stroll around, beer in hand, ogling the wenches!

Try and spot the wife and I performing in various shows and entertaining people in the streets of the Festival.

I go fer the accomodating tavern wenches. Nothing like a pint of Ale and a comely lass on yer knee to make a man feel warn.

I have been going nearly every year for the past 10 years and they really need to change the shows.

I mean how many times do you need to see the mud show? Once.

But if it's your first time, you will enjoy it.

A lot of shows are there year after year because the public wants to see them.

However, there has been a fairly big change around in shows this year. A lot of great new acts, and the return of some acts that haven't been here for a number of years.

And, just for you, no mud show..

Limey, that sounds encouaging.
Can't make it this year, little short on despossible income. Hopefully Rick the dick will keep mixing it up and I can go next year hopefully.

Don't get me wrong, I like the mud show... The first time.

I'm part of Cobblestone Characters....

Because I enjoy Lute music, I could see having Owain Phyfe yearly (I believe this is his first for this fair), other then that and a handful of others, it pretty much looks like the same line up of last year.

I really enjoyed Emusic, but they only made one appearance. There has to be more act out there.

Jerry, there are 11 acts that are either at the fair for the first time this year, or are returning after having spent some time away, six of them musical acts. On top of that the cast has a relaunched Musical Macbeth, substantially longer than last year, and a new madrigal chorus.

Remember though that some people will be back year after year because they get a great crowd response, which includes the street cops that Jean and I played last year. We were told by the directors that we would be bringing those characters back again..

I'm excited!!

Will there be any 'themed' weekends so I can try to see if one fits?

Yes, the themed weekends are going to be happening.

This weekend is the Romance Weekend, given it's Valentine's Day on Sunday. This is also a 3 day weekend at the fair, for those who get President's Day off.

The 20th and 21st Feb is the Pet's weekend, so come along and bring your pooch with you

The 27th and 28th Feb is the Pirate's weekend.

6th and 7th March is Wenches Weekend

Final weekend is the 13th and 14th March - Celtic Weekend.

Any weekend is good, but for a bunch of gamers, go for the Pirate's or Wenches weekend... ;-)
