Sounds interesting. Could give me a chance to try out this buggy sitting on my desk for the past couple weeks.

Yea, have a feeling this could be easy for orks and nids. Tau I believe can give folks a run for their money at this level as well.

Re: Kill teams this Wed
Originally Wednesday nights was a series of small games, about 750 points, so you could get two may be three games in.
Then Rudy declared 1500, and its been the same till today. I don't why, because it is more logical to have small games on a week night due to everyone's schedule.
Perhaps you could go back to small games. Just a suggestion.

Re: Kill teams this Wed
Hehe, last 2 month it has been 2k and now 2.5k for me. Got to say though that it has helped me to play faster. Especially when a certain SW player wiped my speed freaks warbiker army by turn 2. A 200 point kill team mission sounds like a lot of fun though. It will also let people try out new armies without spending your rent money. Also, just to add more info; each model is an independant character and may divide up melée attacks among those it is in base contact with. As well as you may select 3 models and give them any USR. You can't pick the same rule more than once. Reading through the book it doesn't mention a thing about vehicles though, so I guess it is fair game. Looking forward to see what everyone can squeeze into 200 pionts.

Re: Kill teams this Wed
In original Kill Team rules, vehicles weren't allowed I believe.

Re: Kill teams this Wed
Would be hard to fit vehicles in a KT game (points wise).
Sounds like fun, can give alot of character to certain models! Will actually remind me of a smaller version of DoW2.
I will definitely be down to get a game in!

Re: Kill teams this Wed
Not sure about 4th edition. Apparently legal in battle missions though. Kinda dumb though since so many points invested in a vehicle and then once it blows up that's pretty much game. I think I posted all that is relevant for a kill team game.

Re: Kill teams this Wed
Don't know how balanced a vehicle would be, the spirit of Kill Teams was to be small skirmish level infantry missions, commando raids, hence most didn't need to pack anti tank weaponry with their teams. It's not dumb, it's just fluffy as was always the point of Kill teams. Not sure how the new Kill Teams rules are supposed to be, but the way it was before it wouldn't make much sense. The point was that one team is sneaking in, while the other is the "guards".
Stuff like walkers were considered legal I believe though.
Do you actually have Battle Missions book? It's not supposed to be out yet, don't know if you got the full rules or taking something off some website? The old rules were much more complicated that what you posted in the initial post.

Re: Kill teams this Wed
yep, pretty simple. It is just a few paragraphs and easy to commit to memory. Deployment is 9 inches from center and table quarters. The one thing that is important that i don't remember is if models are actually independent characters and get skilled rider and move through cover. If someone swings by the store in the next few days; let us know.

Re: Kill teams this Wed
Matt and I might play a game tonight based on whats said here =D
Sounds like this is a game where certain units will flourish(Ogryns, Raveners, Lones wolves/ thunderwolf cav, and other 1 man army units that normally get struck down at range)

Re: Kill teams this Wed
So they got rid of the entire mission structure for Killteams or scenarios and replaced it with just a small scale battle system?

Re: Kill teams this Wed
played kill teams with josh... Interesting stuff if the rules are as stated here on the forum. It feels a little.. Empty though. Hopefully there's more in there to liven things up! It feels kinda like 40k but on a stupidly small scale. Battles are epic and bloody. Close combat is a nightmare, but where most of the combat seems to take place. Plasma guns ROCK. Other than that, the focus of the game seems to be spam 2+ armor saves and rush the field.
I pray that there's more to it than the above.

Looks like they dumbed it down greatly, it also appears to be only one page. It's sad as Kill Teams was pretty interesting and they could have actually just added some rules to the old system and made something interesting out of it.

Re: Kill teams this Wed
Can't no hq's and even taking bare gaunts to get as troop is too many points. Harpy is good though. Btw anyone going in store today to play? Off today so I can go in. We can always change things up like adding a mission objective or one hq or heavy foc.
