my 3rd list for review

this weeks list was way better but it still needs the swarmy goodness i once had so i present to you my 3rd list.all thoughts and comments please!

Is this that list that lost an entire gaunt squad to a pair of trigger-happy Chimeras and another squad to a manticor?

looks deadly though! I think it would be interesting to fight that with my army...I'd probably lose from the gaunt swarm though

no this is the new one.
the have gaurd and shoot you within range even if the target can not be seen.if i can see a part of the model the you dont get a cover save. the only waay to get a save is to be 100% obscured

That's not how Hive Guard work at all, actually. You have to either be IN a piece of cover, or behind cover and touching it, or else you get no cover save. Simply being out of LOS is not enough. However, if you can see the target but they're in cover, they still get a save.

Seems like it would ignore smoke launchers and moving fast, too. Neither smoke nor moving fast count you as being "in cover", merely obscured. As such, I would think you cannot count the 4+ cover save, as it would be a "benefit of cover".

What about KFF

No, the rule gives specific exceptions to the rules pertaining to being in or touching cover. It does not address any other saves.
