FOW Mini-Tournament on Saturday, April 24th, 2010

Alright.

I know this is the day before the Fantasy tournament, but Joel wants to do something this month for FOW and this is the only day I can do it (can't do Sunday, but since Sarah is working all day Saturday I'm free then).

The plan is to do a mini-tournament. I'd like to start a bit later (say, 1:30 or 2 pm) and run 3 rounds straight (2 hours each round, 15 min break).

It will be 1750 MW (prep for Recon the following weekend). Even if you've got Late-War, I've got Excel spreadsheets that allow you to make your army in MW. Just PM me and I'll get you the links.

I have the North Africa book now, so apart from a little bit of substitution (I only have 6lbrs, not portees), I'll be good.

I'll try to convince my wife that i should come to this tournament. Let me see how much this is gonna cost me, place me as a very unreliable maybe.

Naaa.. it just took us a while to get things just the way we wanted them. So what if we lost a couple of men here and there, lot more where they came from !

The 6pdrs are ok to you because you always have the option of dismounting the guns from the portees

Sorry to break the bad news. Our good friends from next door had a trip planned for Vegas, just the two of them and they had arranged to have her sister come from Ireland to watch the kids. Due to the vulcano in Iceland, she hasn't made it. If she gets here by Saturday, I can still play. If not, then I can't go. It's hard enough to leave my wife with our 3 kids. I can't leave her with 6. And two of them are 1 and 2. Sorry, pray to the FoW gods that the vulcanic ash goes away!!

Results?

Well, in the end we got a late start, there were exactly 4 of us there, and I could only play one round.

1st round was Dave's Brit Rifle Company vs Luis' Srelk Horde, in the Breakthrough Mission, which I believe Dave won, and a rather dour 1-1 draw between my Brit Rifle Company and an American Rifle Company on a city board.

2nd round? I'll leave that to Dan to describe...
