the drop pod & myotic spores)
rescently we had a discussion at the store about if a drop pod scatters off table. apparently the use of 4th ed codex and auto destroyed was used. Actually (now this is for you Tyranid players too) it's not.
a scatter roll placing you off the table is a roll on the mishap chart. still they can die, but this is the price you pay to be awesome.

Correct- the edge of the table is considered impassable terrain, not a mystic dark hole.

Once again - your just quoting another player on another board. While correct, it doesn't mean anything unless the answer comes from GW.
And what's with all the confusion?
40k rulebook - page 95. The rules clearly state that a scatter off the table results in a roll on the mishap table.

edge of the table is not considered impassible terrain. If it was, the drop pod's inertial guidance system (or w/e its called) would prevent it from scattering off the table.
also note, Drop Pods can mishap if you intentionally place it within 1" of an enemy... so don't place it within 1" of an enemy.

Chris is correct. The edge of the table is not impassable terrain.

Once again -
40k rulebook - page 95. The rules clearly state that a Deep Strike scatter off the table results in a roll on the mishap table.

So if say I somehow pass on the mishap table, I just get placed on the table edge?

No - that is not one of the results.
1-2 Destroyed
3-4 Placed by your opponent
5-6 Back in reserves
