German Late War list
HQ
. 2 Stug G. 190 points
Combat
. 3 Stug G. 285 points
. 3 Panther A. 560 points
Weapon
. 2 Anti-Air Quads with armor upgrade. 110 points
Support
. Panzergrenadier Pioneer Platoon. 200 points
. Panzerknacker SMG upgrade
. 3 squads with trucks
. 2 Brombars. 140 points
. 2 Hummels. 235 points
Total. 1720 points
Suggestions?
I could replace the Brummbars and Hummels with Motorized 15cm Howitzers (4 guns) and have 35 points left over.
Hummels have some defense but the 15cm Howitzers will go away as soon as they come under fire. And who wouldn't?
Should I drop the lot (Support) for more tanks?
Not even looking at 10.5 Howitzers.

Re: German Late War list
The brumbars are nice anti infantry, but are kind of a weak platoon for this army. They are slower than the other tanks, with shorter range thus making them difficult to get into the action for a few rounds. I don't think the brumbars really fit into this type of list. Maybe as support for a pioneer company, but not a tank company. Hummels are nice, but with only two you automatically have to re roll on bombardments. I know you have the Hummels and brumbars as minimum sized groups to give you 6 platoons, but you might be better off with less platoons at full strength of something else. What book are you running this list out off?

Re: German Late War list
The book is Fortress Europe. I was very impressed with the Hummels in the Tanks Giving tourney. Even with two guns and having to re-rolling hits, they were very nasty.

Re: German Late War list
If that's the case, I would suggest dropping the brumbars and upping the count of Hummels to 3 in the unit. If there are any points left over try to squeeze a small recon unit. It'll help with removing gone to ground and will give you a second set of observers for the Hummels. That way you're not automatically re-rolling for the Hummels and you can have more eyes on the field for them with a bit more utility.

List Update
German Tank Company
HQ
2 Stug G 190 points
Combat
4 Stug G 380 points
3 Panther A 560 points
Weapon
2 Anti-Air Quad 2cm Half-tracks 90 points
(without armor upgrade)

Panzergrenadier Pioneer Platoon 200 points
Command with panzerknacker
6 Rifle/MG Teams
3 (Looted British) Trucks and a Field Car.

Hate to give up the armor on the AA, but squeezing out 20 points got me another Stug G.

Re: German Late War list
That looks much better. The obvious thing to say is try to hide your Hummels every game and push everything forward. Nice company. 5 platoons is meh, but I think its an upgrade from the first list.

Re: German Late War list
5 platoons is just about suicide, but this is closer to what I want to field.
Buying the models already. Will modify the list after some play tests, of course.
Already thinking of Stug combat platoons supported by Jadgpanters.
