Incoming: Orcs & Goblins in March!
Got the official GW email yesterday, I'm a little surprised they're getting a new army book before Ogres or Tomb Kings, but what can you do. And yeah, it's not just models reinforcements, the email does say army book:
"March 2011 will see the release of Warhammer: Orcs & Goblins, an essential guide to fielding a greenskin host on the tabletop, and a veritable font of knowledge detailing the complete rules, background, artwork and enormous range of miniatures available to a budding Warboss."
That's a pretty good incentive to start painting green!

Glad I didn't start fixing my army up for 8E yet then.

Great. O&G get a book before a more deserving race get one... gotta love that GW business model....

Yeah, but that shit was unusable. And it was in the illustrious White Dwarf! Dark angles should be up for remake soon....

Dark angels were also released in 07.
I wouldn't mind an eldar pdf if it meant it was earlier. Can't stand newer codexes getting bumped. Don't care how competative they are.

Competitive isn't the word; I used unusable. The old blood angles and dark angles books aren't good for even casual play. Eldar can soundly beat either of those with even sub optimal choices. Either way its about money. GW could care less about (insert favorite race) fans wanting better for their army.... unless its marines.

Empire and O&G are the top GW armies (sales)

Can't compare a 4th edition codex to a 4th edition codex in a 5th edition rules set. -All- 4th edition codexes aren't competitive against 5th edition codexes. Some to different degrees, sure, but they all suffer in 5th. The degree in competitiveness doesn't warrant a 1-4year bump in codex lineup.
I agree with the sales part, if it is indeed true. I can't see how releasing a bunch of marine armies is profitable- they all use the same figures. If I go from space marines to space wolves- I just paint a little lighter blue on my rhinos and marines, buy one or two characters and I'm done.

Re: Incoming: Orcs & Goblins in March!
But marines are still the GW top seller. Not orks, not Eldar, nothing even comes close in the fantasy range... I'm not disagreeing with your points Chris, but this is a business and money talks. Always.
