Easter front and North Africa are still ok. I think there are a few mid-war lists in the Burning Empires book as well.

Julian, I can't seem to find Domination in the v3 rulebook? Is that mission in another book?

You can send me the list as usual. I've picked my list, so I'll send it to Eric and Mike since they've already sent theirs.
Domination is on the Flames of War website. It's like Free-for-All with all 4 of the objectives in the middle. Take 3 to win.

A FAQ has been released by Battlefront for v3 take a look. Some interesting stuff. PDF is at the bottom of the post.

Re: Flames of War - 1500 Mid War Tournament 4/22/12
Sorry to make waves before the tournament but there is a problem with the domination mission. The fair fight and mobile battle rules changed from v2 to v3 and the mission says that no teams are gone to ground at the start of the battle. The rules for v3 says all teams are gone to ground to start all games. Not sure how you want to handle that, I just wanted to point it out to resolve the confusion before hand.

Hey, quit your bitchin!
So, next one should be 1750 late war.
Any suggestions for scenarios? I think we've played all of them at this point. We've also played Domination a few times, so maybe it's time to retire it.

My German paratroopers killed 87 stands of Luis' Russians! And we both lost. My reserves didn't arrive till turn 6 in the dust up mission. The guy that ran the tournament won! LOL

Yes, the guy that ran the tournament is a real douche bag. Beating up on his own son and taking candy from old ladies. We should replace him!!! Pitchforks anyone?

Re: Flames of War - 1500 Mid War Tournament 4/22/12
The mighty Gurkas of the undefeated Indian army won. Apu would be proud.
I'd have to say that I got lucky. Game one against my son, I went straight for an objective with churchills and barely got there before he took mine. He actually cleared one objective, but I had my commander close enough to move and contest. He had me, but I got him first.
Second game against Hector was Counter attack. I got lucky not to lose all my churchills on turn one to his 88's. My infantry and 25 pdrs held off his tanks and infantry. While the other objective was going to be a contest between 1 plt of my infantry and 2 armored cars. I was able to move while pinned thanks to the new rules (not sure I like that). My planes came in only once in the last 2 games, but they killed both armored cars, so there was no way for him to take the second objective. By then I had also pulled out two pltn checks for the churchills and 25pdrs to steal 2 points.
Going into the last game (domination) against Javier I was the only one with 2 wins and a big lead in points. I played to win the game, but Javier's 2 pltns of mounted halftracks made it tough to move or assault. To many tanks as well. I took two objectives early on my right using trees as cover and dug in to wait and see. It was no a good idea to move forward yet.
On the left we ran into each other on a rocky patch of desert. I had support from mortars nd 25 pars. Also a little help from the churchills. His tiger threatened them all game, but didn't do much. As usual I didn't shoot at it, but I should of smoked it, duhhh. My infantry couldn't assault his on the left because of the halftracks but he assaulted me. I took minimal damage and was looking forward to the counter attack. Ouch, I rolled a 2 on fearless Gurkas!!!. Think I would of taken out the platoon, but I had to fall back and dig in. Bit of a stalemate, for me, so I went for points. Killed his Luchs and Marders for 2 points.
Eventually he took the 2 objectives on the left, but as time ran out he assaulted me in the middle. The assault only killed 2 stands, so my counterattack was able to destroy another platoon. Game over as my churchills passed another platoon check. Would of been interesting to play that game out. I probably needed to find a way to break his company before he took a third objective.

Re: Flames of War - 1500 Mid War Tournament 4/22/12
I have a few digestions for the next one.
All missions should be placed in an envelope and one drawn at random every round. It is more in my opinion because it lends itself to more balanced armies that are not tailored for specific missions.
The lists should be validated by an indepent third party. For example if we know Bill is not coming he can look the lists over and approve or refuse them. The reasoning for this is that we are all humans and if one of us is organizing the tournament and he plays he or she is only human and will look at them and formulate strategies to counter them. Even if the organizer has turndd in his or her list he has his opponents lists.
The organizers should not get prize support for placing. We are there to help others not take away from players who come to fight.
Prize support should be for top three people only. Tournaments are for bragging rights. After all in the Olympics 4 place or worse gets nothing.
Prize support should ne less money. I know this will be unpopular, but if say 30 for first, 20 for second, and 15 for third; then you recoup some of the money you put in and if you placed get something back.
And lastly, I am not saying this just cause my although is painted but there should be an extra point for those that have painted armies. You should get a bonus for making the effert to make you force look good on table and it makes for a better game when both armies are painted. Not to mention it brings new players when they see nicely painted
armies. I for one have never gotten into a new game system after watching 2 silver hordes fight it out.
Sorry for ranting for so long. Just thought of a few things that would make it better. I plan to organize a few tournaments to take some of the stress off Julian. I just need a couple of months to learn the rules perfectly and take care of family issues.
By the way the tournament went pretty smooth and Julian did a great job. It was a blast and everyone was a great sport. Made new friends and have new found respect for American half tracks thanks to some crooked City cop.

Re: Flames of War - 1500 Mid War Tournament 4/22/12
Just so you know, I really did not think my army would do very good against what I saw others bringing. Next time, I'll post it online since I had it picked out about 2-3 weeks ago. I would of rather had something more mobile that could kill light armor than infantry.
I usually specify missions because thats what tournaments do. I was thinking that we could use the rules and roll to see what we play. This time I tried to pick missions that I felt could play quickly and were fun.
Normally I am the independent 3rd party.
I leave the prizes up to Joel, but I would rather play for nothing, but less is fine by me.
I do like the idea of penalizing Luis's unpainted hoard army.

I had a great time too. First round was wine and cheese! Second round. Was American pie. The third round was weinershnitzal and sauerkraut. Smorgasbord of fun!

Re: Flames of War - 1500 Mid War Tournament 4/22/12
Was lots of fun, the migthy Soviet army was mauled in a bad way...and i did loose 87 stands of infantry in that first game, lol, the map was a carpet of dead russians.
Cesar once again evaded the hammer of Stalins justice...i'll get to play him yet.
I agree Julian..them halftracks Javier brought were a pain in the ass, they repelled my assaults time and time again.
Hey, and i find it offensive that you guys call my army unpainted..im just following the theme that there was not enough of anything for the new soviet recruits..not even paint.
1750 it is for next tourney ! prepare to cry
