3 Rounds: 2 hr 30 min each.

Missions: Breakout, Hasty Assault and Domination

Scoring: Places will be decided by win-loss. Points will decide ties.

Added the scenarios we will be playing. All three are new for us, so it should be interesting.

So far 3 German and 3 Allied. Nice and even.

Looks like I can make this one. I can play either German or British. I guess I prefer to play my Germans but it doesn't really matter.


Ooh, just saw it was 1500 pts. That works for me, now Rufus and Bill can't field to many Char B's.

I'd love to field a polish army, but those suckers are pricey and seem to have issues killing armor....

I will definitely be playing Germans. I forgot the FJ now have a list in Burning Empires!

Dont have the Early War books, dont even know what the Russians can field...prob mass casualties.

Is there a List for the Soviets for early war ? i got the models to make an army for them. What rating are they ? fearles/conscripts still ?

There are no lists for the Soviets for early war yet. My son is looking for the same thing since he likes playing them. I just started painting the masses of infantry to add to the tanks.

Maybe you can lend-lease some troops from another player.

I used the Ostfront list, it has units from early war on it, KV-1es, T-34 1941s, T-60s and the infantry and most of the options are still the same. Jus tnot sure if they qualify as Fearles/conscripts or not. The point cost might be an issue also.

To the best of my knowledge, Ostfront isn't used for tournaments anymore. I don't know of any early war lists for the Soviets. I'll ask on the FOW site.

Luis, I would really like to see you at the tournament. Not sure where you found that list but the points on the tanks look way off compared to the other nations. I'm guessing that is not an official list. I have some extra Germans or british if you want to borrow them.

Sup, i got the list from the Battlefront forums under Early War development, it looks like is a list that people are using while the EastFront book comes out in July or something.
The army is listed as confident/conscripts ..

Yes' I agree with Eric, the tanks are very cheap.

5 Soviet matilda II's for 705 (confident conscript)

VS

3 British matilda II's for 710 (confident trained)

Not sure about the infantry, but it looks cheaper than the mid war companies. I can check when I get home.

If my son looks at this list, he'll be playing Soviets for sure.

270 points for 31 stands of infantry with a komissar!

4 katyushas firing as 8 for 120 points.


I think the points are a bit to cheap.

They are confident/conscripts ....they get hit on a 2+ and not being fearles is gonna result in boatloads of casualties, those 3 British tanks have a better chance to survive but whatever, it was the only list i found and i think its the one they been using up in New Zealand. Looks like the Soviet horde is gonna sit this one out, unless you agree to some point changes on the stuff.

They have a finnish list there also. Is this ok to use form the tournament? I don't want to use those Germans if I can take my Finns. Early war Finns would be awesome...especially against early russkies

Luis, I posted a on the FOW site and got another list for the Soviets and it has different point values that are cheaper. I'll email Battlefront and see what they say.

Mike, let's stick with whats in the books for now.

The main thing for me is to make everything fair or everyone. So, let's see if I can get something from battlefront.

I'd be inclined to allow the experimental lists just for the sake of getting more people out to the tournament (just my 2 cents). If this were a national qualifier or something like that then it would be different. Either way, I will still be there.

The following Soviet equipment was not in use during the invasion of Poland or the Winter War with Finland and may not be used: T-40 obr1941, T-60 obr 1941, Mark III Valentine, T-34 obr 40 ( Production began Sept 40), T-34 obr 41, T-34/57, T-40 obr1940, Matilda II, KV-1 obr41, ZIS-30, BM-13 Katyusha, PTRD AT Rifle, 57mm ZIS-2 Gun, 76 ZIS-3 gun, Il-2 Sturmovik.

The Finnish list has the following errata:
Page 9- Jaakari platoon- Add option to upgrade the platoon to a recon platoon for 70 pts.
Page 17- Add tank turret platoon- Add tank turret platoon, one tank turret bunker for 40 pts
Page 17 - Cannon Bunker - Add cost of 40 points
Page 27- Tank turret- Add armour stat line. Immobile, armour- 1/1/1

No multiple company lists allowed.

Note that for the purposes of this event only, Soviets will be considered Axis and Finns will be considered Allied.
