Wound allocation to models Empty Wound allocation to models

Hi everyone, I have a question:
According to what I read in 6th edition rules, wound allocation goes to the closest model first but what if the closest model has a W stat of 2 or more?

Text says (page 15, Allocate Wounds):
First, allocate a Wound from the wound
pool to the enemy model closest to the firing unit.

Then after that the next paragraph says:
"The model gets to rnake a saving throw, if lt has one (see page
l5) if it fails, reduce that model's Wounds by 1. If the model is
reduced to 0 Wounds, remove it as a casualty.
"

But, let's say the model has a W of 2 and I fail the save, so now it has 1 W,
Does that mean the same model has to try to save against the next wound in the pool? or does the next wound go to the another model in the unit.

thanks

But then lets say that model had a W of 3 and there were 3 Wounds in the Wound Pool. Then if it is real lucky, it can pass 3 saving throws in a row, the Wounds Pool becomes empty by then?

Yeah - I'm pretty sure you can put the high save model in the front of the unit and protect the group. 8Edition wound allocation is whack

I'm interested to know the answer to this question as well. Sounds pretty stupid to put all the wounds on the same model b/c that would really slow the game down a lot but if that's the rule, that's the rule.
