Flames of War - 1625 Early War Tournament 2/24/13

Points: Early-War, 1625 points

3 Rounds: 2 hr 30 min each.

Missions: Random rolling, one each of defending, mobile and fair fight missions

Rules: 3rd edition

Army lists: Official books and PDFs from battlefront only. PDF army lists available on the Flames of War website listed under Official. (This does not include any army lists currently ‘Under Review’.) Everyone that submits a legal list before 6 PM on Saturday the 15th will get 1 extra point.

Scoring: Places will be decided by win-loss. Points will decide ties.

I can make it, the new date gives me more time to finish working on my army.

Soviets have an early war PDF that's no longer under review?

Yes, there is an infantry company online for the soviets. It covers the invasion of Poland.

Yes that list is still Under Review and not tournament legal.

I wasn't going to run an early war tourney until the books come out in the summer. But talking on the phone to battle front, they said to use that list.

Is that the same list the Luis used in the last EW tournament? If it is, it is broken. Bill can attest to that fact.

Ill be bringing Italians.

It's not the same list as last time. My son has been playing it and I don't think it's that good. Lots of conscripts and weak support. If its going to be a problem for you guys, ill either change the tournament to mid war or have him play British.

Could you post a link for the list. I looked all over the FoW website and could not find an official or unofficial list for EW Soviets.

I looked over the Soviet PDF. Its not as bad as the last one. Confident Conscript is horrible. And the Wave attack rule isn't as powerful as the one in the last PDF. IF you allow it, I would go over the army special rules with all the players before the tournament, so that everyone understands how they work. Just me 2 cents.

They must be more than 12" away from the enemy if the wave comes back. That helps stop quick assaults. They will probably need to move forwards as well. Conscripts die quick out on the open.

True but I'm nobody has every played against this list. And it would be helpful that everyone understands the mechanics. It seemed a bit tricky to me is all.

I'm just going to make it easy on everyone. I'll have Luke play British. We have enough stuff to make to Armies.
