See post on new DE book
Since people always seem to miss when I put it one or the other, I decided to post in both...
Please see the post on the new Dark Elf Book
Enjoy your read...and remember, this is just someone writing from memory.

Hey Sam, are you going to be in town any time soon for a game?

Re: See post on new DE book
Should be there this weekend. Most likely the Dragon, but depends on where the campaign goes, if we get together for our next series of seasons. How many points? 2000?Diosamblet wrote:Hey Sam, are you going to be in town any time soon for a game?

Re: See post on new DE book
I should be there with a couple 2000 point lists, as well. Any update on the campaign, though? Nothing new in the campaign section. I would hope we wouldn't just quit...I have so many ideas...so many Undead to kill...so many skellies, so little time...

The longer the campaign delays, the more time that it gives for my Tomb Scorpions to continue their tunnelling to come up in the middle of the High Elf army barracks ( aka makeup room ) and unleash rigtheous fury upon the dildo loving Elven host ! Their Richard Nixon sahped Dildo saddles shall not save them this time !!

Re: See post on new DE book
You guys..
Well Sam, I have no problem continuing. But we have to see who can get together for it. Max is bailing out. We also have the problem in the fact that this weekend, I may go to the 40k tourney.
Weekend after that, we got the Low Fantasy Tourney, which, you didn't say you were coming for Sam.
Weekend after that we got the next Dragon Tourney.
So.. I don't know

Re: See post on new DE book
Well, I'm happy to track all the activity for you, or you can get someone at either the Dragon (first choice, especially for Bill, I'm sure) to track and status you, so that we can get in a turn this weekend...otherwise, as you mentioned it's possibly a month before we go again. Just some thoughts...several of us are already planning on being there this Sunday anyway.Ovich wrote:Well Sam, I have no problem continuing. But we have to see who can get together for it. I will not be able to make it, neither will Chris because we'll be out of town (got to get a military physical and have to go to Patrick AFB in Melbourne, FL to do that -- long story). We'd love to have come, as it sounds great, but for the moment, not dice...sounds a lot like the "Army Comp" tourny I was thinking of putting together. Maybe we'll do that sometime after Thanksgiving (to give people time to build up their "regular" units).Ovich wrote:Weekend after that, we got the Low Fantasy Tourney, which, you didn't say you were coming for Sam.

Re: See post on new DE book
I understand.. don't like a high elf army full of bowmen, silverhelms and spears huh? Actually an army full of silverhelms wouldn't be too bad... just like brettonians without the lance formation, but with ASF.
Anyway, I'm fine with you guys running on your own. At some point you have to get the Map though... and I won't be able to tell you where the last power hex is..... at least for now.l

Except that Silver Helms are now Special...so just spears and bows for Core!Ovich wrote:I understand.. don't like a high elf army full of bowmen, silverhelms and spears huh? Actually an army full of silverhelms wouldn't be too bad... just like brettonians without the lance formation, but with ASF.

Re: See post on new DE book
No Shit ? WOW... why would anyone take them over Dragon Princes? I know they're cheaper but it's not like they have different uses, like the difference between Glade Riders and Wild Riders.
Hmmmm... should I take cheap crappy heavy cav.. or OWNAGE heavy cav.
DECISION MADE

Re: See post on new DE book
Pretty much. Thats the main reason I stopped playing High Elves cause I went cav heavy. Now without the silver helms as core I lost interest in the army.
So I went for the coss... I mean Kislev!

Re: See post on new DE book
Except that you only need 2 core at 2K, so only need to spend 180 points on spears and the rest of your army can be Lion Chariots and Dragon Princes (if you want to do the heavy calvary theme). I tried the heavy cav for a while...too dice dependent. No where near enough ablative wounds/units...every unit was worth real points and had to do significant impact to win...every army needs ablative wounds and an all cav just didn't have enough models for that. Just my 2 cents.scurrdi wrote:Pretty much. Thats the main reason I stopped playing High Elves cause I went cav heavy. Now without the silver helms as core I lost interest in the army.

Re: See post on new DE book
Eh, we'll see what happens. I lost my most recent game with them but it was a 2 on 1 (me with 1k points) and it didn't quite work out according to plan. I've faired ok in previous tournaments with it. You just have to be very, very careful with it.

Re: See post on new DE book
Or, make sure you have two mages with Lore of Life and make sure one has the Seerstaff, so that he can take Master of Wood...trees hurting Wood Elves, Dryads, Treemen, and other forest spirits...just too funny!scurrdi wrote:Unless your playing wood elves, then you just give up
