T-34 hands down best tank of the war, reliable, fast, once it got the upgraded gun it became even nastier, heck, even the germans had a couple of divisions of captured T-34s !.

The panther was good, but it had to many damn problems, most of the german "big" tanks were unrreliable as hell.

Panthers were improved T-34s, in a way. After they got all the problems fixed. They could've kicked alot of as if they would have given them some good crews.

Once the bugs were worked out of the Panther in late 1943 it was the best balanced tank of the war. It had a perfect combination of armor, speed and fire power. It was a complicated machine ,but none the less a great tank. The high velocity 75mm gun could slice through a T-34 while the frontal armor on a Panther could still stop an 85mm anti-tank round.

The Military channel had a show on the other day called Top 10 Tanks ever. I didnt get to watch it all but the Panzer IV was 6th. Its based on main gun, armor, speed, how many were produced and I think fear level. It was a pretty good show. They do re-runs all the time. Might want to watch it. When the Germans started east into Russia, those Panzer IV's were moving almost 26 miles a day, and the Russians had no response for it.

I read somewhere that the Panzer IV's aremor was crap. Don't know if it was thin, or just a production defect. They are not too great in FOW, and IMO over priced. Mad

They are great for Flames of War. In real life the Panzer IV was an excellent tank and the workhorse of the Panzer Divisions. Its frontal armor was as good as the Sherman or T-34. It's 75mm gun was better than any allied tank had until late in the war when the T-34 was ungraded to the 85mm gun and the Sherman got the High Velocity 76mm gun.

Well the FOW PanzerIV has a nice gun, but the frontal armor is worse than the sherman or T-85. The most expensive version has equal frontal armor to these two, but that's like +75 points per tank!

It think it's the King Tiger. Just because it's cool to have the biggest, baddest, most heavily armoured tank around. It's definitely the tank I wouldn've signed up for if I was a nazi mutherfucker living at that time.

King Tiger frontal armor was never penetrated in the war, there were no guns strong enough to do that. Yeah they got bombed, out flanked, and ran out of gas, but they had monstrous front armor.

They were much better defensively than any other tank... but the moment they had to actually move. Well.. they had a lot of mechanical problems because they were rush off assembly and because of all that weight.

But gods what a monster.

The British 13 pounder anti-tank gun could punch through the Tiger I's frontal armor. Rick in Flames of War your paying for the crew and protected ammo.
