British Desert Rats smash Italians at Alam el Halfa

After a successful breakthrough by the Axis forces, the British 7th armor division "Desert Rats" made a counter attack to retake a key village at Alam el Halfa. A combined force of Italian Bersagliari and Folgore Paratroopers were dug in with a pair of Lancia 90mm guns supporting them. The British sent in a light armored company that consisted of 3 platoons of Universal Carriers, 2 crusader platoons, 1 grant, 1 sherman platoon and a platoon of Royal Horse Artillery. The lancias destroyed 2 crusaders and bailed at another in the early moments of the fight. But the R.H.A. responded by knocking one gun out, while the other was taken out by a crusader with a 3" howitser. The Italians were short on anti-tank weapons and their reinforcements consisted of light M14 tanks. The Italians were overwhelmed by the British Armor and were last seen in full retreat.

The Italian Government denies this battle ever took place. It was a recon in force and we simply pulled out after accomplishing the mission. Il Duce could kick Churchills ass in a wrestling match...bitch.

It was, at the very best, a lopsided affair.

We simply did not have enough anti armour to deal with the fact that the Britts had like 15 tanks, and like 10 universal carriers, which count as tanks.

Bill and I should have communicated better also regarding army composition. He told me to take more anti tank, but I didn't realize we needed so much more. In retrospspect, I probably should have taken the manpacked 47 squads and the second demolisher unit with Flamethrowers

Gamewise, we probably should have deployed our tanks from the outset and brought our infantry in after ward.

Yeah, it can be tough when you dont have enough anti tank. Thats one area that the russians strugle with, none of our infantry has the option of taking on armor, the only thing we have is the crappy Anti Tank rifle for infantry, that thing is like AT 5... our infantry doesnt get the option for bazookas or other things like it.

One thing you guys can do is to pack several layers of Pizza dough arround your tanks, this way they can absorb the incoming enemy shells and survive longer!
