I also faced Ray's Templars and fought them to a draw. Again Kharn is a bad bad man.

Game One
- Black Templars VS Chaos Space Marines (Nurgle / Khorne / Emperor)
- OUTCOME: Black Templars Win



Day broke across the blasted surface of the war torn planet Sunshine Gamundus Prime as the heavy tread of three Black Templar Land Raider's "Black Excalibur"(Terminus Pattern ** Standard for game purposes), "Sigismund's Eternal Crusader" (Crusader Pattern), and the venerable Mark 2 Pattern " Final Judgement" broke the through the rubble a crumbling imperial city.

"This is Sigismund's Eternal Crusader..." The voxed metallic tones of the lead Land Raider's pilot came across the net, " Multiple contact bearing due north one thousand yards."

"Contact type?" Brother "Tempest" chosen Champion of the Emperor's responded ensuring to all that despite Castellan Aubrey's presence that this was his mission.

" Multiple heat blooms consistent with enemy transports..." The pilot paused, " Correction... Visual contact with one Traitor Legion Space Marine Land raider and Vindicator.... Enemy has yet to detect our approach."



" Then by all means let us not keep them waiting for the Emperor's Judgment. All Land Raider's Engage!"

From the Images above yuo can see that the Battle was fast and furious. The Templars took the lead early in the game bu the vicious tenacity and out right vile weaponry of the enemy wore the Templar forces down to the last man... Fortunately though these brothers did not die in fain as the object was to secure the counters and control them which could be done by placing them in vehicles. Despite the loss of one land raider the other two where able to secure three and maneuver while engaging the enemy effectively through the course of a six round battle to secure the day despite still being outnumbered. Overall a solid victory but costly as my enemy shall attest.

BATTLE TWO

- OUTCOME: Black Templars Massacre



I won't get into as much detail on this one because as the games day wore on I took less pics. Regardless this was a lucky win on my part as I did not think about the tactics of the vile orks and the use of Gretchen as meat shields to guard their lines. regardless though my Land Raider crusader decimated the Gretchen line on turn two after I found that firing past them gave the ork horde a cover save and prevented me from killing them off the first turn... The Wrath of the Emperor was swift then as by a stroke of luck his zap gun warped out on the first turn with a roll of double ones and then I took out his large cannon and systematically took apart his army with superior firepower and initiative on the assault. By Turn three it was done and what was left of the ork forces fled.

BATTLE THREE
- Black Templars vs Eldar
- OUTCOME: ELDAR Major Win



Eldar are the bane of my army at times. They are hard to close with and as my opponent won the initiative and took out one land raider off the start it was beginning badly for the templars. Needless to say that my forces where worn down to one immobilized Mark 2 Land Raider, one full Assault Squad and the Emperor's Champion with Afro Space Marine. As the Objective was hold the corners I was able to secure one and contest two leaving him one one as well. My Champion Also took out his HQ with my HQ which left me in good stead.

FUN LEVEL: Extremely Satisfying
SUGGESTIONS: More DIET COKES! Maybe a Pizza run from Little Ceasers for the lunch portion as they are $5.00 Larges. One Model Submission from each player for painting competition for separate prize support (Possibly pre-arranged modeling supplies ie. air brush gun, spray cans, bottle paint selections). Assault Defender Scenarios or City Fight perhaps? Just to mix it up.

Added more eldar pics. Wife rushed me and forgot to put those on there. Wish I had gotten more of the Ork Game. Was a really good fight.

It was an excellent battle. Mike was able to claim victory. He aquired three of the five loot counters, I managed to get two. Head to head though the forces of Chaos wiped out all of his ground pounders and destroyed one Land Raider. It was a hollow victory for him. Kharn took out the Land Raider with his trusted power axe "Gorechild". Around 30 corpse worshippers were felled. The Blood God claimed many skulls that day. Kharn was even impressed by his brother legions(Deathguard and Emperors Children) although he had a strong desire to take their skulls as well...but Abaddon would be displeased. There is no time to settle petty rivalries. Those Land raiders are a hard nut to crack. Mine took a beating as well and only lost a Lascannon. I think Mikes in the Navy not the Army. He was running like a little girl. Kharn demanded he stand and fight like a Soldier...sadly he didnt. Much Geneseed was harvested by Fabius after the Templars fled. Afro Space Marines bandanna is tied around Kharns power axe "Gorechild". In my eyes it was a victory for Prince William of the Wretched Bile.

Mike and I made an exchange...a Land speeder for a MK1 Land Raider. It will be painted in the colors of the World Eaters. Kharn needs his own ride and he earned it. To quote Phil "he'll be the Crackerjack suprise".

Hard to refute the results but damn if he didn't own that whole game. I only won in essence of completing the objective. I would definatly love a rematch on a friendly setting in two weeks or so when you have time brother.

For my other opponents i hope you post soon and I'd love to hear how the other battles went!

Its the same guy Alfred. He's still running around kicking ass and taking names...and skulls.

Pg 366 of Galaxy in Flames says otherwise. It's not 100% definative but it's pretty close.

He was killed fighting on Terra, but Khorne spared him. Read his background.

Great Crusade

According to the Horus Heresy books, Khârn was Captain of the Eighth Assault Company and equerry to his Primarch, Angron. At this time, he is described as a deeply bronzed and noble warrior, with a long and noble face. Somewhat ironically (considering what he would go on to do later), he was seen as a moderating influence to Angron. The first depiction of Khârn as a follower of Chaos is during the Istvaan III Incident; where the World Eater is described as a man swamped by "dark madness" during a battle with Garviel Loken (a loyalist Luna Wolf Captain). The process of his corruption is not detailed - "I am the eightfold path"(which is a mental development with the goal of freeing the individual from attachments and delusions ending in an understanding of the truth of all things) is the only explanation offered by Khârn for the sudden transformation (eight is the sacred number of Khorne). During the battle with Loken, a Land Raider gored him with its front spikes, ending the combat between Kharn and Loken before its conclusion. The name Kharn is taken from the Arabic word Karn which means betray or to betray.

Khârn's story continues during the siege of the Imperial Palace at the height of the Horus Heresy, where he is said to have fought at the forefront of every assault. Khârn is killed by the Emperor's Champion, Sigismund (later first High Marshal of the Black Templars) during the battle. After the defeat of Warmaster Horus and with the reatreat of the Traitor Legions in full effect, the remaining World Eaters carried the body of Khârn with them back to their transport, where he was reincarnated. This unusual occurrence is seen as the will of the Blood God, Khorne, favoring a valued servant. In the rest of his blood filled history, Khârn is depicted as never coming close to death again.

The story of the World Eaters search for a homeworld in the Eye of Terror, is a defining point in the history of the character.[5] The legion was engaged in battle with the Emperor's Children on a planet named Skalathrax when the lethal cold of the Skalathrax winter set in, forcing both sides to seek shelter. Khârn, infuriated with the idea of his fellow World Eaters to seek shelter while their enemies still drew breath, proceeded to burn the shelters of both his own men and those of the enemy, before killing anyone -friend or foe- who stood in his path, thus earning the title of "The Betrayer". This act shattered the World Eaters Legion, splintering it into warbands that roam the Eye of Terror.

Sigismund Emperor's Champion(later first High Marshal of the Black Templars) layed the smackdown on Kharn. Hats off to Mikes boys.
