April League

Hey guys, I don't have confirmation and haven't spoken with Gabe about it yet, but I'm pretty sure the April League will be the Warmachine Mark II Beta Test.

As I've heard from podcasts with PPS_Kevin, Hacksaw76, and others and reading forums online the MkII WM rules are *not* compatible with Hordes.

*IF* the April league is WM only and *IF* you do not have a WM army do you want to still get together for a formal league or just fun games?

I would still love to get together, for any type of game.

No, April league should still be the current rules. Beta test has nothing to do with league or tournaments.

Oh, I was under the understanding from what I've heard and read that the "league" for April would be the beta.

The new rules (book and cards) do not officially release until 2010 at which time they will release the Hordes MkII Beta test rules as well. So everyone will be playing MkII at that time with the official Hordes MK II rules (book and cards) coming out later that year.

no, i got that, however, there's supposed to be some sort of open beta for WM MkII next month. iirc, Hacksaw76 talked about it on the Iron Agenda ( http://www.ironagenda.com ) and PPS_Kevin spoke about it with the guys from Fell Calls ( http://www.podthralls.com ).

this "open beta" would allow PG's (and possibly all users) access to the new rules which would then be disseminated and used for a series of games (called a league but not really) which would then have feedback provided to PP in hopes of catching glaring rules issues.

the issue being with this "league" is that due to WM MkII and Hordes not being compatible, A.) would we be doing the WM MkII Beta "league"? and B.) if so do the Hordes-only players want to figure something out instead?

The Beta test is something seperate that will be released to everyone in April for WM Mk II

I'm in for any Beta test. I just hope we dont lose our Horde buddies!
