Question about Games Workshop Empty Question about Games Workshop

Post by FrankH Tue Dec 29, 2009 9:48 pm

Hi everyone. It's Frank the Necron guy. I was wondering if GW has anything like Wizards does for asking rules questions about their products (Magic, D&D, etc.)? Given how old the Necron Codex is and the amount of rules questions that come up (WBB, melta bombs v. monolith, teleporting falling back units and monolith, and many more to come I'm sure), it would be nice to have something even semi official. I looked on GW website and only e-mail address I could find seems to be for shipping concerns. I've seen on various forums that people sometimes get an answer from e-mailing them, but I cannot find the address. Anyone help?

I emailed :

askyourquestion@Games-Workshop.com

For my Necron questions. Had a reply from a mr. John Spencer, Customer Service Specialist. FYI, according to them, any Necron models that fall in HTH combat are eligible for WBB, even if the rest of the squad was swept up. This is in direct contradiction of the Adepticon FAQ, which is one of the many reasons I feel free to ignore said FAQ.

Hope that helps!

After formulating a well thought out e-mail and shipping it off, I get a response that the address is shut down, but to keep watching the GW website for a new one. Sigh....

I have the official Games Worshaft response...

"Take in the ass sucker"!

and...

"The only questions we answer nowadays from customers is, how much"?

I cannot express how glad I am to have started a hobby dominated by this company. Sad

Frank, at least you got some response.
Player's of War of the Ring have been requesting a FAQ for over 8 months!

Games Workshaft stated that they are holding it until the German version is done. What the Fuck!
They are so stupid that they can not come up with a better lie!

I have never seen a company try so hard to go out of business... hhhmmm, well next to GM.

Kyle, a better outcome would be GW pull the head out of their ass and run the company proper.

Hell, rumor is Outland is charging normal MSRP! If that is true, then anything is possible.

GW ain't going out of business. They made profit this year in the down economy. While they may treat their customer base like shit we continue buy their little army men and keep the machine running.

There last two financial statements show them turning around and actually making money again so things are on the up for them, though they are still down compared to past years. They peaked around 2004 and then started to drop big time, but they have been coming around now and back to making money, but who knows if they will get back to as successful as they were in 04 and before.

04 was the LoTR boom - which was big here, and HUGE over in the UK

They could make some simple changes which would fix their games and increase the player base and sell many more models, but as Jerry points out - they are not the smartest bunch.
