Bill vs Rufus

Rufus and I played a couple of games at my house yesterday before I had to work. I won both,due to Rufus having never played a real game before. He used his Brits against my Grenadiers (late war). I must say Panthers are worth the points. I also fielded two Jagdpanthers. Worth the points as well. In both games(as far as my panthers go) I lost a total of two. One to 5.5 inch artillery and one was flanked by tank destroyers. I also like my Motorized scout platoon with assault rifles. Very affective. Im trying to get Rufus to join the forum so he can give input into the systems he plays.

Damn, he was using 5.5" Arty? So he had 25lbrs as well? That's almost too much arty...

That's how my American Infantry run. They run 4 mortars, 4 105s, and 4 155s.

It's a lot, but it packs a punch, when you range in that is.

That may be a suboptimal build for the Brits though. If you can, Brit Arty should be run in 8's, so you get the special rules kicking in.

4 Arty templates a turn? That just gets nasty on a lot of boards!

Granted, you don't have a lot of points left. Usually for 1750 or up. Very specific style of play. I've watched guys play that sort of list with a bunch of universal carriers with some success. Use the arty to blast the crap out of the enemy, use the universal carriers for speed and open infantry death.

Jeez, that build is pure Edam....
