MARINES AND KNIGHTS OVER MIAMI May 21st - 23rd 2010!!

UPDATE - I spoke with Dan and the Fantasy tourney will probably still take place that Sunday. Details pending.

I wasn't given many details as to the numbers of players who were unable to go due to the conflict. Joel had known about the date issue for awhile but didn't think that it would be that big of a conflict.

Generally Joel tends to worry about something when more then 2 people talk to him about it. This has happened before with events and sometimes he's right, sometimes he's wrong.

Regardless, it's canceled for this go round, we shall see what next year brings.

Joel really do need to get a bit more involved in running tournaments, most store owenrs ive known run their own tournaments, no need to depend on some random person to hopefully show up to run it.

Hey it takes alot of energy to sit behind the counter. I apologize if Joel has some sort of rare degenerative disease I was unaware of. Otherwise he should be actually doing something in regards to organizing play of game systems he wants to sell.

Thats our job. If he didnt have to pay an employee he'd have that person run the store while he did god knows what. The store has such potential its a shame.

If he is unwilling to organize events himself he should be doing more to get people to run events. Organized play drives sales if only by a small percentage increase. That small gross increase is a big percentage increase of net profit.

Joel is too parnoid and distrustful to allow someone to run his store. Organinzing events takes too much effort on his part. So he relies on non- employees to run tournaments for him.

Why should he change, he gets his cake and eats it too. He doesn't have to pay anyone cash or a salary, and meanwhile he doesn't have to actually run the tournaments, he gets to sit on his ass all day and eat Subway.

Sure if he paid more interest and organized things better he would make a lot more money, but maybe he doesn't care about that. He's happy with what he makes and doesn't have to work that hard.

Since he has a monopoly in Miami, he doesn't have to worry about people getting pissed and gaming somewhere else.

A couple of times he complained about the forum and how people complain too much and how it could hurt the store(thats why he doesnt visit...ever). Then when the Dragon was around he complained that we supported that store. Yet he contributed nothing to the forum. I guess he doesnt realize that forum helps him out quite a bit. Again he complains about something that helps him that he doesnt have to run or pay for. Its amazing.
