New Warhammer: almost here!

Since we announced the new edition of Warhammer back in April, the excitement has been slowly building. Across the land hobbyists have begun gathering their forces in preparation of the mighty battles that lie ahead; in hushed whispers they’ve talked about what might lie within the 528-pages of the new Warhammer rulebook. Well prepare to ramp your excitement up a notch – Warhammer will be available to advance order from the 15th of June. Inspired by the clockwork creations of the engineers of Altdorf, we’ve today added a swish countdown clock to games-workshop.com, so you’ll know exactly how many minutes and seconds to go before you can order your copy.

To thank you for subscribing to our newsletter (these images won’t be shown anywhere else!) we thought we’d give you a sneak peek inside the new book. And don’t forget that June’s issue of White Dwarf is out this weekend and contains more exclusive information and pictures from the new Warhammer rulebook.

let me say that those Dark Elf ships look FANTASTIC!

I've tried to read some of the tiny words, but you can't make too much out.

We've got.....

A WoTR scenario rip-off
a fluff piece on Lizzies
a pictorial of O&G models
and a scenario for someone with many of the pointy-ear man things

Yeah, lets post some cool O&G pictures on the Rule Book, maybe people will forget that the codex sucks !

The last picture looks the best, thats a LOT of pointy eared homos. Goes to show you that even GW concentrates their collections on the broken armies

I kinda wanna buy the BRB when it comes out.....but i wanna wait for the boxed set with the minis. How far behind the BRB would that come out ?

The boxed set is $90 and how much is the book?

Prices aren't known, they will be revealed at end of the countdown when the preorders go up. Probably be pricey, 528 pages hardcover book, and rumors are that it will be full color too.

Box set pricing and details have also not been given yet either, the $90 is speculation based on the price Black Reach was raised too, the box could cost less or more than that possibly.

Good thing bout the box set is that :
a) u get a bunch of minis
b) is a hell of a lot easier to carry the small book than the gigantic BRB

Yeah - I hate my full size rulebook. mini-book for me all the way.

To me it looks a lot like LotR War of the Ring, except in a brown artwork.

You guys should really consider playing WAB (Warhammer Ancient Battles)...same models, small rulebook...much better! The new rules look stupid!

Don't you mean "Warmaster"?

That would have the same armies on a 6mm scale.

Warmaster Ancient is historical armies, not fantasy.

I have most of the Warmaster fantasy armies and Smirkweasal and I are trying to get started on it.

He didn't say it was fantasy - he said it was the same size models.

Warhammer Ancients is cool, ive played it before. Is Warhammer style play, but without all the magic and crazy stuff. Historical based game, i used to have a Carthagenian army, can be adapted to play with 15mm figs.

Shadow, true, I just thought he meant some game system that was similar in the GW product line that was Fantasy based, like LotR War of the Ring.

So I guess I could say, you guys should play FOW, Warmachine, AT-43, Infinity....

Life is grand, loads of alternatives!

It's up, the rulebook is $75. Looks freaking huge and apparently full color as well. Has a bookmark ribbon as well
