Starting Fantasy

Im going to start fantasy seeing how it draws my attention more than playing 40k(im stilling gonna play 40k)

I was wondering what a good army to start with would be. It is for tournaments and fun i guess.winning = primary goal.

I was thinking about running Vampire counts.

It's kind of a hard question, with the new edition, no one knows much of anything to tell you. We're all discovering the game together now.

So, uh...good army to start with would be the one whose models you like the most.

Warriors of Chaos, Skaven, and probably daemons.

daemon models are kinda expensive so i have to rule them out.
Skaven im not really into a horde of rats.
and my bro is gonna be running warriors of chaos

Vampire counts are definitely a cool army, but they aren't what they once were in 7e.

If all you want out of fantasy is to win, play MTG instead.

What is mtg?

magic the gathering. i have played it for so long. i stopped a couple of years back.

and i want to play fantasy because the models are insane. and the game play seems a lot more fun and different from 40k.

Just play the army you think you will like, try not to go in looking for the uber winning army. After you choose your army and start building it, then you can consider how to make that army a winner.

just look at what you like, then go from there. The army i win the most with is also the most rarely played. My night Goblins, they are shitty troops but they are a blast to play and play against. come by the 11th if you would like

im trying to get started. im hoping i can have 1k points by the 11th . if i do manage to do so i will be there for sure

Really? thats awesome. i was watching 3-4 days ago learned a little bit. more of a hands on learner. i would like to play a few games to get the feel of it. Its completely different from 40k

He can't play MTG anymore not after my half decade stint running through Pro-Tours and constant tournament play.
