Best Army in 8th

Which Army do you guys think will be rated as the best after a year of 8th?

I'm going to have to wait for more Army Books to come out in the wake of 8th Ed to make this choice.

I can't vote. Skavens are missing. On a side note, my spell checker on my iPhone just tried to change Skavens to Alabama.

I don't think there's a "best" army. There are some that are better than others, but not one that is "best." If there was everyone would flock to it. Just saying....

The new game is very rock/paper/scissors with way more death than the previous edition.

I think it's too early to predict who may have an edge overall.

Skaven need to be up there.

But i think High Elves got a huge boost out of 8th edition. They can totally dominate the magic phase even more now, their ASF couple with High Initiative means that they pretty much have Perma-Hatred, totally overpowering their Dark Elf counterparts.

I think Ogres are the sleeping giant soon to wake up and leave a smelly foot print on 8th edition. The new rules fixed them big time, ive been on the recieving end of a unit of 6 Trolls and is not a pretty sight.

Look, I was in a rush, and left a few armies out.

Skaven should definitely be competitive. I don't see the Orcs and Goblins getting that much of a boost from 8th, but I haven't played against them yet so for me, I'll wait and see.

Undead in general have ups and downs in the new edition, so I left them out, especially since the VCs seem to have come down a notch.

Beastmen, while much improved may not be contenders, it's too early to tell.

Me, I see the Lizardmen being really tough with the Slann. The combination of nasty magic and rock hard troops is just disgusting in 8th. I played against Erik's Slann last night and even though I have a level 4 mage, the extra powerdice with each cast, along with +4 to cast just makes him one big lighting casting beast. I mean the dude was just laying comets down and popping shit with chain lightning every damn turn. Then when he gets an irresistible force, oops, nope.. it's YOUR mage that miscasts due to cupped hands of the old ones. They're just ridiculous in the magic phase now.

Lizard army book is still fairly new too, right? So they are going to be dominating for awhile.
