Alright, so here's my thinking:

We run it similar to what Tate's has been doing. We create fluffy, themed lists and get together every other week to get a campaign game in. I think it would also be good for us to try and get a campaign game in during the time inbetween (so effectively, 1 game a week, but one date would be set in stone) so as to allow some flexibility for the family restrictive, but still get the campaign feel.

We'd play some smaller point sizes to get some of the newer folks in. I was thinking between 1500 and 2000 points. 2k points always looks good because you can still take some stuff, but the time is much more managable.


What do you guys think? I think it'd be a great thing!

We'll take a vote on which size games we want to play, and maybe switch it up as we go along. The larger games tend to take awhile so thats why I'm voting for something smaller.

As for starting, I'm not sure when yet. I'm gonna have Joel order me the Mighty Empires so I can look into it and understand how it runs before we make it happen.

We'll see what we get, since at least Quinchilla is new (to me at least).

What you can do is increase your army points with GP from the mines. Make sure to put a cap on it we have it at 250 so there is only a 250 pt differnce between an army if some spent there gold and this would not be to over whelming.

If you want I can copy and paste the stuff we are using and you all can pick thru it and use what you would want.

Here is how that will work we each will have 100 GP we will then place on a piece of paper what you want to bid on get the first choice of starting tiles. Highest bid chooses first if 2 people bid the same they roll off. What GP you have left will be put into your empires bank. GP are worth one army point when building your army list. You can only spend 250 GP at one time (if you have it) so the most you would be able to increase your army points to would be 2500 pts. A 250 pt advantage helps an army but would not make them over power full. This will also help everyone understand the importance of mines. So that army list that you have that is 10 or 15 pts over and you really like it you can play if you have the GP to spend.

Then we will need to choose our events the person that choose there starting point will choose first and so forth.

1.Shortfall- Pick a player and they can get no revenue this round

2. Building boom-You can place a fort or mine marker on a tile you own or replace fort you control to a city

3. Disaster- choose a player they must roll a d6 for each mine, city and fort on a roll of a 1 it is destroyed

4.All or nothing- you receive an extra 2 campaign points if you win, if you lose or draw you get nothing

5. Scouts-Your opponent has to deploy his whole army before you deploy yours

6. Diplomacy- choose a player they can not challenge you that turn

7. Land Grab- The first tile you grab this turn only cost 1 campaign point not 2

8. Magic Reserch- ignor your first mis cast of the game

After this the challenges are placed lowest point empire challenges first and so forth. If there is a tie they roll off

When all battle are done we record your points
Lose- 1 campaign point
Draw- 2 campaign point
win- 3 campaign point
Massacre- 4 campaign points (must win by 1250)

Now is when you can spend your campaign points
Claim a tile- 2pts
Conquer tile- 3pts take there flag off and put your on but you must have battled them and won to choose this
Build- 1pt Add a fortress or mine to a tile you own or upgrade a fort to city
Raids- 1pt add 2d6x10 to your treasury
Mountains- it cost 1 extra pt to take
Fort or city- it cost 1 extra pt to take

You win when you have 10 points
1pt for each tile
tiles with city's are worth 2pts

Why build mines? for each tile you have a mine on at the end of each round you roll 1d6x10 (river2d6 mountains 3d6) this will be gold generated from the mine you can use this money to buy extra troops above the 2250 limit for a battle.

We will also have a few extra special tiles on the board that if you own them you will then rep the benefits from them. Dwarf brewery, wizard tower.

Dave Thomas had also talked about wanting to run a campaign. He has rules and stuff out on them but doesn't know how to post them. I'm gonna see if I can PDF them for him.

1000 Points is to small for 8th, smallest i would think would be 2000. But whatever, i just wanna play and well run campaigns are cool.
Doesnt the BRB has the mighty Empire rules on the back or something ? I couldve sworn i saw something like that in it.

The rules are about three pages long and very bland that is were your group needs to spice them up. Also be carfull when it comes to points for wins that is why I changed it to make it a little harder and also removed the part where the game ends when one person is knocked out.

It's not as detailed as the old Campaign book, but it's infinitely better than that piece of shit ruleset. Those were awful campaign rules. Mighty Empires is simple as heck but at least it works.

I would sugest to play the first time with there rule set but then after add your own spice to it. But it is great time for all with it they are much more simple compaired to the old sytem but after the first campaign you can add some of the stuff from the old campign book adn stuff you might want to theme out. We have had a great time with ours.

I have the tiles and everyone.

But I need everyone's help, especially if you want to get started soon.

The tiles come unpainted, so I need volunteers to help paint tiles. It's pretty straightforward and doesn't need to be a fantastic paint job.

If we pass them out to everyone, then they'll get painted a lot faster. If you wait for me, it might be January before we get started.


So, any volunteers?
