Re: ultramarines trailer
Problem is, studios would never go for it. They want control of the movies while GW is known for being very protective of it's licensed materials. If Hollywood execs don't have free reign to do as they please, they will pass on it.
40K is not big enough property to allow GW to boss around movie studios, it's the other way around. GW would sign off the license for 40k and Hollywood will do as they please with it, and GW would have very little to say... though they would get a pile of money out of the deal.

Re: ultramarines trailer
GW didn't pitch this to a movie studio. Kotex pitch to them, GW. Unless of course Kotex is actually GW in disguise.
For a minute there I thought this was going to be real movie. Turns out it is a direct to DVD made by production company that has never made a fucking movie (read hacks).
You can get your "Collectors Addition DVD" for a limited time, operators are standing by to take your money, call now.

Re: ultramarines trailer
Bell of Lost Souls saw it, they said it was pretty decent, just that the animation budget seems pretty low (which is obvious from the trailer). But it's supposed to be very faithful to the universe and all.

Re: ultramarines trailer
I rather have a faithful version of the mythos done in fair quality, then a beautiful piece of crap!
Judge Dredd anyone?
From what I saw on the trailers it may not be as good as most current big budget efforts, you can't deny it is better then say "Starship Troopers" the computer animated series.
To me what is really odd about the movie business is they will throw a lot of money on a old TV series, but not on some original material like 40K or similar game systems. Here's example, they are remaking "Dark Shadows"! Really how many people are line up for that? That has a bigger audience!?
Another missed opportunity.
