I agree with all of you about scratch built models that look like ass but honestly what if someone bulids a model that doesn't look like ass? What if their scratch bulit model looks BAD ass? I mean border line, pro level, model building skills here.

Lets say that once it's topped off with a sweet paint job, you can't tell the difference between the official thing and the scratch built one.

Would there still be an issue here?

I'm cool with proxies, models from other companies, and good looking scratch built. I just don't enjoy playing a game of hobbled together tin cans just because it'll be some sort of advantage, at that point we might be playing a board game.
