No, if your video does well on youtube they ask if they can put advertising and give you a cut. My fiancee's sister had a crappy little video that netted her a few bucks. This was reported on the news, she physically earned about $20k so far from YouTube alone. I don't know if her good morning america appearance or Leno appearance paid any though, but that's why interviews have been asking her what she's going to do with all the money she's getting off this.
