Rumors
"Supposedly, Karl Franz will be one of the giant models that stands 6" tall and 9" wide. The War Alter will be roughly 7" tall as well. Looks like 2 big center piece models! It sounds like the Celestial war engine will provide buffs for your troops and trigger thunderstorms on the battle field while the Luminark will provide magic defense and shoot blinding rays of light at your enemy. The demi griffon knights will be their new monstrous cavalry. Any new empire players will be able to field an all plastic army and will have all of the models in the army book available to them as well."

the empire book is just odd..the point increase was not that bad but i dont know how i feel about the mortar being only S3

Mortars took a hit - most put them on a shelf until 9th Edition.

Rocket Battery took a hit as it now always takes indirect fireing penalty.

Engineers took a hit - you now need to predeclare which war machine you will support before you shoot anything.

Wow - so glad I traded my Steam Tanks because they took a MAJOR hit with the nerf bat.

Building Steam Points: Declare how many you are going to use from 0-5. Roll Artillery
Dice. If the result is greater than remaining wounds or a
Misfire comes up then roll a D3 and add the number of Steam
Points generated to it. Then consult the Mishap table. You can
only use max 3 Steam Points for any category.

Steam Cannon: Range - 12" with 1 SP, 24" with 2 SP, 36" with 3 SP. St10,
Multiple Wounds (D6). If Misfires immediatly take D3 wounds no
save and does not fire. Cannot Grapeshot.

Steam Movement: Allocate 0-3 Steam Points. Movement increase D6" per SP. Does
D6 + D3 St6 Impact Hits per SP on charge. D3 per SP Impact Hits
on one unit in BTB thereafter.

Steam Gun: Flame Template, 360 degree LOS; Up to 3 Steam Points can be
used. 1 SP = St2, 2 SP=St3, 3 SP= St4. Can be used as Breath
Weapon every turn even in CC that you generate Steam.

Steam Tank Mishap: Roll a D3+ 1 for each SP you generated; 1-4. Roll a D6. (on 1-2
you cannot expend SP that turn, 3-4 no Steam gun this turn, 5-6
no Stean Cannon this turn), 5. lose D3 SP. 6. lose D6 SP & unit
in BTB suffers 2D6 St2 hits. 7. Roll D3 - gain that many SP and
lose that many wounds. 8. All units within 6" suffer 2D6 St4
hits. Tank is Destoyed.

Warmachine Nerfs
Cannons + 20 points, same stats
Mortars +25 points, S2(6) armor piercing (providing you can wound)
Rocket Battery, D3 templates with INDIRECT fire and S3(3)

War Alter Nerfs
No longer passes the 4up Ward Save to the Lector
Limited to one bound Banishment spell (vs any Light spell)
