German FJ smashes Russian Offensive

Tonight, units from 2 FJR dug in to hold the line verses the a massive battalion of Russian IS-2's. The Russians fielded 9 IS-2's and a company of Katuyskas. The Germans seemed to have no answer to the massive Soviet onslaught of heavy armor. The FJ units consisted of 2 full str. platoons of FJ's, 1 machine gun platoon, 1 heavy artillery unit, 3 Stugs, and 1 unit of 4 pak 40's. The germans never gave up send volley after volley of Pak 40 shells and Artillery against the tanks. The german units got lucky as they knocked out a few of the heavy tanks. The Soviets finally launched an assault and were repelled by the infantry armed with panzerfausts. After the smoke cleared 6 IS-2's were destroyed and the remaining had fled to the East.

The Soviet factory workers that made the Dice used in that battle have all been executed as traitors to the Soviet Union.

Man, talk about a craptastic ammount of failed 2+ armor saves !!!! The IS-2s are very nice, and a company of them is an impressive sight, but they are really not very practical unless you are facing another tank army, even though my first assault broke the german lines and pushed them back twice, at the end it was to much for the soviet tanks as they were swarmed by infantry and those damn panzerknackers/faust. Artillery was the MVPs for both sides, his artillery killed 3 tanks !!! mine did some damage on him also.

Was a cool game and as always Erick sets up a very nice looking table, specially with those new houses he got, they look awsone. Next time he will face the might of the Soviet Penal Battalion !!

Did you remember your rear deck turret machines guns? They come standard on all IS2's

They are collectable Casino dice straight from Vegas. That's why they are 5 bucks. But if you buy like 8 like I did, you only pay shipping onces. So it was like 10 or 11 bucks. Thats not to bad.

I'll play against them, its tough either way when your facing FV dug-in folks. I learned some valuable lessons last game I played, like using smoke more often.

Yeah, I was more frustrated by the two games of good dice rolling I suffered against. I did learn though that smoke = less dice rolled. If I had used more smoke in my first game to cover my advance I wouldn't have had to deal with pinning as much, or as much defensive fire.
