Re: 40K Tournament on Jan 9th
I posted that it was for the 9th but I guess it didn't go through.
Some people might come in from out of town for this if it wasn't on the second and since two people said they couldn't play I moved it to the 9th.
Hot dog, no more player caps and we aren't forced to use all realms of battle boards. I think we are going to get some bigger fields now.
I'll be posting the missions this weekend.

Re: 40K Tournament on Jan 9th
What is the max space for 4x6 gaming tables? Are there so many tables we no longer need a cap on entries?

Oh so we have nearly infinite space if you count setting up RoBattle boards on the floor? How many tables of 4x6 with 3-4 big pieces of terrain can we do? I can bring enough terrain for 1.5 more tables.

Re: 40K Tournament on Jan 9th
First mission is Dominoes
Deployment is Spearhead/6 Turns
For all of the objectives below only one person can obtain them. If both players qualify for the objective than the player who achieved it first claims it.
Primary: Kill all enemy troop choices. This does not include dedicated transports.
Secondary: Kill all HQ choices. If you are playing a Space Wolf player you only need to kill two.
Tertiary: Kill all Heavy Support choices. If they have no Heavy Support you get this automatically. If both players both have none then well slap my ass and call me Sally.
Bonus points:+1 Killing all Elites and +1 for killing all Fast Attack choices your opponent fielded. If they fielded none you do not get the points.

The Old Days
Deployment is Pitched Battle/6 Turns
Primary: Hold the Center. Have the most VP worth of units completely within 6 inches of the center of the board.
Secondary: Victory Points. There are no ties.
Tertiary: Move one of your units off of your opponents long table edge. This unit must have started the game in your deployment zone, it cannot have the scout special rule during the game. It does not count as destroyed.
Bonus Points: +1 if you got more Kill Points than your opponent, +1 for controlling more terrain features than your opponent.

Re: 40K Tournament on Jan 9th
Chaos Reigns Supreme
Deployment is Dawn of War/Random Game Length
Primary: Seize Ground(6 Counters). At the end of each turn rill a D6 for each objective. On a 6 it is removed from play. If the objective is controlled when it disappears, the player who controls the objective must redeploy their unit via Deep Strike at the start of his next movement phase. The objective counts toward the total for the player who controls it when it disappears.
Secondary: Kill Points.
Tertiary: Control more quarters than your opponent. All units except for dedicated transports and HQ count as scoring for this objective. If a unit is in multiple quarters at the end of the game it is determined randomly.
Bonus Points: +1 if you got more Victory Points than your opponent, +1 for finishing your game before time is called.

as I already said, we have 10 MORE 4x6 tables. NOT counting what we already had. We have enough terrain. We don't' HAVE to have a clusterfuck of terrain like we normally do. I'm not talking about setting up on the floor.
Also, can we not do this primary/secondary/tertiary thing again?

Hey Chris do me a favor and settle down. I don't know what you are all riled up about. I was having some problem understanding your short message earlier. Apparently you are trying to communicate that their are many tables and then many more but that's not how it reads.
Most major tournament events are primary, secondary, tertiary. It adds complexity to the game. What is wrong with it? If you want to start a poll about that works for me. Please mention that people shouldn't vote who haven't tried it. I think you didn't read the missions carefully, they seem very well balanced to me.
I'm not sure what Chris is talking about in terms of terrain. I never have terrain on more than 20% of the board, and often there is less than 5 pieces since most of the decent looking stuff at the store is fairly large.

Also other players are more than welcome to run the tournament, I am only doing it because it is rare for anyone else to show interest.

What's so difficult to understand about that? Clear, concise, and to the point.

I was not aware and it hadn't been my experience. Secondly, if you're choosing/writing missions you shouldn't be participating in them- imho.

20% of the board not counting the hills built into the GW boards, which make up almost 1/4th of the board in itself. All I'm saying is we can cut back on one piece of terrain per table if it means two more tables and four more people can play. I, however, don't think we would need to do so.
Originally I wasn't 'riled' up about anything. Now, I am. Everyone on this fucking board jumps the gun way to fucking fast; assuming someone that posts contrary information is jumping down their throat.
