40k Apocalypse Game Saturday Feb. 6, 2010
Hello folks,
Saturday Feruary 6th at 11 am there will be an Apocalypse game. Come throw down with the biggest, baddest lists you can. Dig around your closet for all those models you built but never got to try. There will be objectives, as well as hidden goals as two sides collide for supremacy. There WILL be prize support, this is the official game sponsored by Joel.
Come play the first Apoc game at a full sized apoc table as we join all the smaller tables for the table size Apoc was meant to be played in!
Restrictions:
1. Tournament starts at 11 am!
2. $10 entry fee.
3. Point limits: NONE. However, bring only as much as you can move/shoot/assault with in a 30 minute turn. At the end of each 30 minute turn, play will go to your opponent. I don't care if you didn't finish your assault phase, it will get resolve right then and there. You brought 9,999 Orks and didn't finish moving them? Too bad. The game is moving on.
4. You can bring units from any army list you want. Have some Eldar and Marines painted up? Great. Have that one Greater Demon you bought on a whim? Bring him down. However, you are NOT allowed to mix psychic powers/wargear/effects/etc across armies. So no, your farseer can't guide your terminators or anything like that. Sorry.
5. Superheavies and Formations are not only allowed, but highly encouraged. HOWEVER, you must run them by me first so that I can assign you properly. I don't want one side to have 6 baneblades and the other to have a swarm of firewarriors.
6. Custom army lists/units are based on my approval, so make sure to contact me if you want to field something custom/fan made/etc. No, you cannot make the Badassinator and bring him in, but if you really have your heart set on a genestealer cult list, I will consider it...just remember to let me see it first! No surprising the game organizer or your opponent.
7. Forgeworld IS allowed, but you must have the Forgeworld rules for it and run it by me.
8. Try to have your Apocalypse stratagems selected in advance. It just makes life easier for everyone.
9. You're allowed to team up with a buddy, but let me know in advance so I can keep you on the same side.
10. There will be two teams, Imperial and Xenos (or Chaos). Feel free to nominate/select a captain, or volunteer (though that can be voted on if more than one person wants to)

Only problem I see is the assault thing- they have to be resolved somehow or else one guardsmen can tie up 100 orcs

Re: 40k Apocalypse Game Saturday Feb. 6, 2010
I'm willing to entertain a later starting time, but I don't really want to be there until 9 pm. I say 11 so we don't start obscenely late, and because in an Apoc game people WANT as much time as they can get.
And Chris, can you restate the original problem? Maybe we can put it up on the rules question board.

You say that regardless of whether people are in assault the next turn -will- begin.
There is nothing wrong with working out time (in fact, we need to), but problems will arise with people being drawn into combats and not being able to act on them in their turn.
For instance, I'll use a not so extreme example, 10 khorne berserkers make a charge into a IG heavy weapon team consisting of 3 models(6 wounds). We all know that those berserkers will wash through them on that very assault phase. Because its apocalypse however, and a lot of combat will be going on, and that assault may not be played out. That allows the CSM player to avoid enemy fire and to be freed on the enemy's assault phase instead of his own-

Re: 40k Apocalypse Game Saturday Feb. 6, 2010
That's true. I'm thinking of not allowing any assaults to be declared 7 minutes before the timer ends so that people have a reasonable time to end assaults. Does that sound good?

Re: 40k Apocalypse Game Saturday Feb. 6, 2010
quick question: I wish to try out my new Adeptus Mechanicus army, could I feild it then? [linkage to Codex pdf is in the Warhammer 40K site, as well as the list I plan to use...possibly overlooked now:(]
I would need to proxy the transports I plan to use, but I will mark them [AKA: whatever I plan to use...] appropreatly so everyone can tell just what they are.
on that note: does anyone have two/three spare Rhinos I could lend for the game?

Don't know if this will be seen in time, I will be coming in and hopefully I can fit. I am bringing roughly 4500-5000 pts of space wolves and I will have my list with me.

Re: 40k Apocalypse Game Saturday Feb. 6, 2010
Sorry, haven't been on in a bit. Anyway, I'll let you run the admech list BUT I must see your proxies before the game, they have to be reasonable (e.g. no coke cans for transports)

Endre,
Just so you know, I just found out from two guys that they are going to be coming. One is bringing a massive super-heavy and the other is bringing Tau.
Just FYI.
