But now its the Russians and Chinese. They keep neglecting to factor in our Navy and Air Power in all of these invasion movies. And then our all volunteer professional Army and Marines with state of the art equipment and 1st rate training. Fucking monkey Russians and Chinese are second rate conscript armies with second rate equipment ...oh yeah and Russia has a failing economy. What Navy does china have that can battle its way through a couple of our Carrier battle groups to drop off its troops on our west coast. Can someone enlighten me?

I wonder if something like that would ever work, i mean, who the hell expects China and Russia to ally and launch a surprise attack at the US ? Heck, our intelligence couldnt find BinLadden and go the "weapons of mass destruction" thing wrong, so maybe they would let something like a Russian-Chinise alliance slip by.

Well it's pretty much impossible to do a surprise attack on us in this day and age. Red Dawn was more believable in the 80's, now it just would make no sense at all.

Nope , the only thing the Chinese and the Russians could do to us this day and age is just hit us with a combined arms, land, sea, and airforce that would include over 15 million personnel.

In a conventional war, we could be in trouble just by attrition.

That's why the idea of getting rid of all the nukes is ultimately never going to happen !

The "if we can't win, then everybody dies" school of tactics and strategy is a Crackhead Bush brain fart. There is no going back once you launch. It sounded good back in WWII when the Americans were the only country in possession on the bomb. Apparently no thought was given to how this all would develop into the current problem.

Thanks to the Rosenberg's and poor security the genii is out of the bottle (top secret information was given to the Russians). Now any country with the desire and resources can have an atomic bomb.

The next major war will be economical, much more effective, gives the same desire results and is cleaner. You want the country you are taking over in tack.

Are those 15 million troops gonna swim across the Pacific and Atlantic oceans and avoid the largest and most powerful navy in the world? Everyone thought Saddam and his 3rd rate Army were gonna give us a bloody nose back in 1990. We obliterated his shit. Over 1500 AFV destroyed to our...3 or 4. 127 Combat casualties to thier 100000+? It's just a matter of attrition Bill and the fact that the technology gap has gotten a lot narrower between us and China. You think Russia and China have no Navy or airforce ? The newest MIGs are still some of the best fighting planes in the world . Check out the MIG 35 on Wikipedia. or check out the Shenyang J-11. The russian Navy declined after the fall of the Soviet Union but has been re arming and escalating since. Pretty soon they'll have close to what they had during the cold war.

China is a sleeping Giant the way the U.S was in 1939. All it would take is a war for them to become militarily dominant. Conventionally speaking of course. Nukes are, the ultimate equalizer.

Listen Ive been a military buff my whole life I know my shit. There is no comparison. The Russian and Chinese navies combine X2 couldnt compare. Our technology far outstrips either country. Those Monkey Russians cant even feed their own people. everyone thought the Soviet Union was some unstoppable beast. Come to find out after their collapse the bulk of their army was 3rd rate reservists equipped with severely outdated equipment. Ive done my research. Why does everyone feel the need to suck that Chinese dick. Fuck them. Their only advantage is numbers.

The technology gap has not narrowed. Id dare say the U.S. hasnt been sleeping the past 20 years. We've refined the art of killing. There is nothing either country has to compare to say the F-22 Raptor or a tank to compare to the M1A2 Abrams or the smart weapons or the all volunteer professional army we field.

I'm not saying you don't know your shit Bill, all I'm saying is that I think you underestimate the capabilities of what are essentially the only 2 other superpowers in the world. It has nothing to do with ideology, politics or any of that. Simply speaking, all 3 countries are the only nations in the world that boast vast natural resources, giant populations, and global influence.

The fact is, Russia and China have the most powerful combined armed forces after the U.S. If the 2 teamed up to destroy us, and Nukes weren't in the picture, I'm sure it would only be a matter of time before we were history.

Shadow I agree, it is an endless stream of Old TV and movie remakes.

The movie technologies has finally reach an apex were a convincing environment is produce, but the art of storytelling and original content is gone.

The real tragedy is that there is a great deal of source material basically laying around. Numerous Sci-Fi and Fantasy books abound, just waiting to be put to good use. And LotR, Harry Potter, Naria prove that this subject matter is profitable.

You think people with marking and business degree's would turn their brain on and use it, but obviously not.

Karate Kid remake... without the Karate....

Lot of book material has been adapted in some form to movies, or the idea was done before. Big problem is that lot of good stories just aren't fit for a movie, they need a series to be properly told and few companies are willing to take the risk of doing a series of movies.

TV ironically seems to be getting better though especially with the more specialized cable channels and such getting more involved such as HBO, Showtime, Starz, etc.

Can't wait for A Team though, yea! Actually the only real nice movie this year has been Kick Ass.

Predators I look forward to. Robert Rodriguez? Fuck yes.

You can't have A-Team without Mr. T and that trailer looks awful. I'm not sure what part I hated the most. The finalists are........

Inception will be the best movie this summer. Just not going to be a big blockbuster.
