Like I said before. It is really hard to try and not start a HE army. Between these new minis and the starter, one can have an incredible looking army.

Damn they're expensive though!

same shit for greatswords, then look at termatiors for 40k. i think they do this for ellite units that way they get the same amout of money that you would spend on your core units....again ono fthe reasons why i am getting tired with there crap

Some plastic kits hit at 10 for $25, but much of the new stuff is above the $4 per mark. Too high IMO for what used to be the metal fig prices 2.5 years back when I started this hobby.

That comes out to $19.25 per Bloodcrusher. After %20 discount they are $15.40 per Bloodcrusher. So they are actually much cheaper. Still though $40 for 5x terminator models I think take the cake.

Price per fig is about average to the rest of the industry.

Problem isn't the price really, it's that Warhammer requires so many figures to play.

Which I starting to wonder about Grey Knights. They are supposed to be a low count elite army. That being said, how are they supposed to make a lot of moola off that army? Could be a great starter since you won't need a lot of models though really tough knowing GW codex creep with marines.

I got to agree the cost is getting out of hand. If they keep going at this rate they will kill the hobby. But on a positve not they will be opening the door for other companys to step in, like Hordes did.

With plastics right now it's generally cheaper to make armies than it was years ago. The plastics even though are going up in price, still are cheaper than before where we had to buy lot of metal figs to make our armies the way we wanted.

Though in a few years this can change if they keep raising prices and we surpass the old metal prices.

The new edition of course promotes bigger army sizes, so in essence it's kind of already being offset.

Honestly, we could all just sell the rest of oh stuff and play cheaper games like Infinity, Warmachines, Hordes or Monsterpocolypse! If their was a bigger player base, I know both me and my brother could jump in. I believe actually that warmachine and infinity are both very balanced and constanly updated for balance as well.

I wish I could get them into Hordes, since I have a whole Skorne army, but let's face it... Privateer Press aint exactly Cheap either.

The truth is, since the table top/board/card game industry is such a niche industry, everything is more expensive.

Look at some of these board games, they're like 80 friggin bucks for the core and then like 40 bucks for the expansion.

Same with Card games, if it's not a complete money waster like Magic and it's ilk, it's still pretty expensive with FFlights living card games. I mean 15 bucks for a deck of cards which are in multiples of 3. It's ridiculous.

Yeah, I've looked into Warmachine, it ain't much cheaper then GW games. FOW is starting to get a bit expensive as well.

Yeah, at least with Warmachine/Hordes we can do small point games without breaking the bank too hard.

Even with using less figs, you also tend to keep buying more figs with each expansion for WH/Hordes. They started doing plastics in an effort to keep their prices in check because they were getting very high. A full cavalry unit could take up to $120 retail to make for a 6 figure complete squad for example.
